Cornish Cross or what breed?

They look like cornish X's. Have they been fed starter, meat bird grower then a fat and finisher? If they have not, that is why they are not as big as they could be. Heat or stress could also be the cause. There's no problem with growing them a couple more weeks. You can also add some milk to the feed to help them put on weight.

They look like cornish cross but they look like the slow growing type. The idea of a slow cornish is so that their legs don't give out before they're ready to go to the freezer.
They grow slower so they don't have as many physical problems. Expect to feed them four weeks longer than fast growing cornish to get the weight you want. Sorry about your bad experience, I got taken this year too. We thought we were getting the fast growing broilers and instead ended up with what looks like a heavy barred rock. We got them at a feed store.

I wonder if they are layer type BR X cornish mixes? They look short beaked and heavy, yet with barred rock shank and feather coloring. Although, I do think the comb would be pea not single so maybe not. Anyway, at least those are prettier than your average meatie cross. I bet they do better on pasture than cornish X's too.
