Husband would like to add cornish game hen to our little operation next year. I understand they're just basically regular birds, but processed quite young. Given that, is there any reason we can't just toss them in with the other meat birds for their short little lives? (I'll be building a cage for quail next spring and I'll be very happy if I don't have to also build something for the cornish game hen.)

Ya Steve nailed.... just order more and process some a bit early. I have to process 10 today for a customer so I may post some pics when I'm done, a lot of talk on game hens lately.... I wonder why?

So... about how many weeks old? My only scale is a bathroom-type (impractical for weighing live birds!)

Weigh yourself then, hold the chicken and weigh again.. Subtract your weight from the mixed weight... Or you can put a box on the scale and zero it out then weigh birds.. Im gonna do 10 of mine today to see what weights we are at..
