according to this, she has a double laced feather pattern. Not a show girl. You can't eat fleathers. She's a mighty meaty girl. May be I can develop the Beefmaster of the chicken world. Body type only, no color constraints. In this manner you do not have to sacrifice form and function for feather quality and eye color.Single or double lacing, penciling is different.
Not dead sure if proper double lacing requires a dark shaft.
They (wife and daughter) reorganized the room that I also have my books in, can't find/get to my Standard of Perfection.
Good looking birds.
I have a question for you ? I have been reading that the folks breeding buff laced Brahmas are having a problem with them fading out and losing their lacing unless they breed in a gold lace every couple generations. As a result of this most buff laced Brahmas are carrying only a single copy of dominant white, which doesn't affect the look of those that receive the copy, but produces a certain % of gold laced offspring as well.
It got me thinking about the single laced looking large fowl discussed here earlier today. Do top end white laced red breeders also sometime produce gold laced chicks, or breed one in occasionally to maintain pattern. I have always assumed the jubilees were probably the result of bringing in some dark blood to maybe improve type.
Was always curious if good white laced reds carried two copies of dominant white ?

Are we talking hens at 10 pounds? Okay she weights 7.5 pounds. Nice meaty package. You do have double laced, but it is not distinct.....which in your case is not a problem. Show Cornish are massive birds, so it is not just pretty feathers. The Standard for a Cornish cock is 10.5 pounds, but you would never win in a show unless you showed at least a 14 lb bird. The color of the bird is the last consideration in a show.
