I'm more than surprised you haven't been keeping them closed up all along.

My dentist has a saying on the wall " Only brush the teeth you want to keep ". Same deal with closing up chickens at dark.

There is alot to that statement! The type of work I do keeps me on the road and working 12 plus hrs a day 7 days a week. Health issues have curtailed that,so Ive been able to try new things with the chickens

I will eventually go to an enclosed pen. As soon as the RAIN stops I need to enlarge the current run. Im doing sections so that I can rotate the "pasteur" that they are on

Those mobile tractor/coop combinations may be an idea. I'm going to do that myself, we have too many chickens to just let free range now.

I have the same problem, I'm on the road 4 days a week & work from home the rest, sometimes I work a away for a few days relying on my son to lock the chickens away on a night.

I'm thinking Mobile houses and 40' square pens of Chicken netting that I can move around my pasture.

This is one I made. I recomend wood bottom or frame to move and to pull on

Sambat the one i was considering uses a wooden base and wood runners for structural integrity
