Coronation Split Sussex Roo or Hen?????

Quote:
Thanks Highlander. Justin said that he was 99.5% sure she was a pullet. He has some that had the redder/pinker comb's and wattles also.

Most likely a pair. Although we are all human and sometimes make mistakes I doubt a serious breeder would risk thier reputation by selling someone two roosters for a pair.

I would say pair too based on that they're the same age. I think pics are deceiving sometimes, so it's tough to say on a pic. I also noticed her neck (black) feathers are shaped a bit rounder than the roo. So that may be a good sign. I don't know the breed or color well, so that's just my thoughts. Regardless, they are very pretty and I'm sure you'll have fun with them.

Oh no, Justin is very nice and honest. I didn't even think of her being a roo until it was mentioned. I'm not too hot on sexing. It took me 18 weeks or better to make sure on my Aussies. I would have swore they were all Roo's, but I ended up with 8 hens out of 12.

I would recommend Justin to anyone. Very easy to deal with and very helpful. Very nice birds too.

I say 18 weeks it may have been more like 20-22

I am so bad at sexing. They finally started laying around 26-28 weeks, so I knew for sure then.

That's why I let you guys sex my birds

I have 3 Coronation chicks now, and I think they are all Pullets!! I was hoping for at least one Roo, but I'll settle for pullets.

Congrats on your new babies!
