Most vets are curbside, these days. Maybe yours will come out to the car to handle this? Better yet, s/he may have a suggestion on how to handle it at home. It's worth a phone call to ask. Sending hugs and strength ...
:hugs
Thanks! Might call.

It takes an overthinker to recognize another overthinker. 😉
And you are a perfectly fine chicken owner. Weird perhaps, but there is no law against weirdness. If there was I'd have spent a lifetime in jail already. 🤪

However, stop thinking...start doing.
It's perfectly fine to delegate the hard part to someone who can do it better than you so let your brother, dad, or a vet take care of it! And focus your energy on getting the testing done.
Thank you!! I appreciate that. :love And that is definitely what I am going to focus on.

I have a 12 year old that's been blind for over a year now. She does find her food and water. I put it in the exact same place every day and tap on the bowl when I put it down. As long as she keeps her weight.....
That’s so sweet!!

Have you called the vet or anything yet?
Not yet. I only just got up a few minutes ago. Got dressed and came out to check on him first. But I’m calling them right now. He still has an appetite but doesn’t appear to have left the coop this morning since he’s starving.

Yeah, that makes sense. But until today or maybe the other day I was still thinking he had a broken leg  so I haven’t really done too much special except NutriDrench in the water and a piece of bread soaked in it. So was thinking maybe if I actually tried to help he might have gotten better instead of worse. But there is no cure right?? So not sure what I think I could have done differently.

He’s gotten a lot worse since yesterday so thinking if he makes it through the night I’ll put him down ASAP tomorrow.

Working with sick preemies for 20 years , I've seen a lot. And a lot of times they (parents) make excuses or look for signs of getting better or think they've done something wrong But it all boils down to one thing. They are not ready yet to let go or make a decision. Eventually they have all gotten to that point. At the time they can accept it.
