I adopted two black dogs
That’s so wonderful. :love

You and @BigBlueHen53 are amazing!!!

DB & SIL adopted 2 black dogs too and we had a black dog, though he wasn’t adopted but I would adopt.

Statistically though, black animals are way less likely to get adopted, at least from what I’ve heard and seen. :( :hit

But then again there’s also just a lot more of them since black tends to be a dominant color over other colors so probably just more needing homes too.

Out in the sunlight, My hens don't move much either. My farm looks like a boneless chicken ranch on some days, like today!
Haha my horses do that too, on a nice sunny morning I’ll check on them and they’re all laying flat as pancakes soaking up the sun like they’re on the beach in cancun, it’s hilarious

Oops I woke em up!

No one adopts black or dark colored animals either. It’s so sad. :(

Obviously cats cause of all the superstition and people don’t like dark dogs either for whatever reason. I think they’re more afraid of them than lighter animals or maybe worry they will be able to see the fur more when they shed or something. Idk. It’s ridiculous. They’re just as good as any other dog.

I prefer the big black dogs. Ours now are black and brown but still dark.

My Jack was unable to crow. He had a heart of gold and a wonderful disposition though.

Yes, a gorgeous blonde colored (sorry don't know horse breeds) gentle horse, happily munching on my roses. Loved being petted, and followed me back up the road so I could find it's home. Helped that I grabbed a bag of carrots out of the fridge to lure it away from my roses, would follow me anywhere I think.
That happened to me several times at my other place. The first time I was asleep (about 6:30 am) when I heard something odd outside my window...drew back the curtain and about fainted when I saw a horse looking in my window! He and his two buddies had destroyed my veggie garden.
I couldn't catch them (not nice or tame) and they ran off up the road and I had to call it in because it was a curvy country road and I didn't want a school bus to have an accident because of the horses in the road. Never figured out where they had come from. (at that time anyway)

Few years later I came out one morning to feed my animals and there was a stray pony next to my barn. She marched right into the barn with me like she owned the place. I was able to lead her into a pen and took care of her while I got the word out to the locals about a found pony. Took a few days but finally tracked down the owner. This little girl was lucky she didn't get hit by a car! And come to find out the pony had come from the same place the previous garden marauders had. Once I met the owners it was not hard to figure out the problem. They didn't even bring a halter when they came to get her. 😠
Of course they asked to have one of mine. Um, no.
But I was nice and fashioned a temp halter and lead rope out of braided twine so I could get them (the people) off my property. Shame.. it was a nice pony.

WARM liquor ... maybe a Hot Toddy or an Irish Coffee? ;)
BAILEY'S!!
