There are some pretty slick ideas here on BYC. I'd like to try building one of the feeders that takes a whole (BIG) bag of feed - storage and feeder all in one - or maybe a fancy automatic watering system. And I need to put some bench shelves in my main coop & rework the lighting and doors on the little one.
Hmmm ... now that I really think about it ... wanna come play at MY house for awhile?

"Scared" and "not using common sense" do not necessarily go hand in hand! I think you'll find (and like you said - "you" is a generalized term) that most people do NOT follow blindly. That's one of the true beauties of living where and when we do.

From what we're seeing, the lack of common sense is coming mostly from people denying or defying the reality of this illness. The current reality IS scary. Our common sense - and yes, some boosting from higher-ups, although sometimes overzealous - is at least making the bulk of us think about what we're doing. If more people had done that sooner, two of my ex's closest coworkers would still be alive, and my mother's best friend would not be trapped in a nursing home, waiting for someone to slip up and share the virus with her.

The "New Normal" is what WE make of it. Going back to the old one simply isn't good enough, anymore.

Rant completed. I'm gonna go wash my hands again ...

Ours doesn’t require a mask. I still wear one though

Yeah a lot of stores here require it or certain towns do. I don’t think our TSC is one but my grocery store down the street is. My town and the town that grocery store is in both require masks now. Oddly, our TSC is weird about masks too. Every time I go in, almost nobody is wearing them except maybe a few people but yet other stores I go in, they usually almost all wear them. Not sure if it’s the crowd at TSC or what? They think they’re immune or too cool for them or something?

That said, our governor did just pass some thing a couple weeks ago about masks being required now so I wonder if people will follow it. I haven’t been to TSC since.

Ours are in glass cases so no flies and germs landing on them. But ours is doing the prepackaged thing now too. Which kinda sucks because they had the best muffins they’ve now switched to some premade kind and/or make you buy 4 now.

True but would prevent flies flying around. And our store is also pretty clean and the muffins fresh.

I wish our stores were like that here!
We are not a big city area, but there are plenty of cases around. Since the beginning people here have not taken this seriously at all. Other than the new clear shield in front of the check out and a couple of stickers on the floor, that were ignored, you'd never know anything was different.
There was a section in the parking lot to pull into for curbside pick up too, that's also new. Wasn't there a month ago and looks like it's never used.

If I didn't have to get some fence supplies while I was there you can bet I would have called in for the incubator to be brought out to me.
Oh, and no more chicks either. It's a smaller store and they haven't had chicks in a while.

We don’t eat anything in the cases. My family has too many allergies and stuff to even try them. We don’t even do lunch meat. I don’t trust other people’s cleanliness because most just do the bare minimum
