I feel bad for people who live in places that don't even have a yard to be able step outside in.

You are very lucky AllenW for the low numbers around you. We are also very spread out where I live but carelessness and disregard has led to hundreds of cases.

I've wondered why we have been so lightly hit, there has been a cluster of cases about 100 miles northwest, that area is often the first stop across the border for some looking for jobs. It is serious enough they are setting a temporary hospital to deal with them instead of transporting to other hospitals.

I live in an area that a lot of jobs are outside and some workers are often by themselves, mostly oilfield or agriculture related, we are also a high UV area from the sun. We're not isolated, several main highways intersect in the area with a couple of truck stops and a quick stop so their is a steady flow of people in the area. I know there has been more hand washing going on since this started because the towels in the bathrooms have to be replaced more often. The hand sanitizer gets used more often too.

I can't "like" that because I wasn't talking about the quarantine protests. Those folks are reckless in their behavior and I agree, protesting 'common sense' is rather, well...you know.

I was, instead, speaking of the protests of the last few nights. Totally different reasons for the demonstrations. ;) Still a hotbed for spread though.
Okay - Got that ... And they're absolutely right to be upset over cold-blooded murder, especially by one sworn to "serve and protect." We ALL should be! But it would be doubly horrible and a compounded tragedy if the protests end up taking even more innocent lives. It's a horrible, no-win situation, no matter how you look at it. So very, VERY sad ... and totally unjustified, all the way around. :(

I agree

I'm not paranoid enough for most posting here. I've worked through this whole mess, essential business, all of our customers are still alive and coming in. Most pay at the pump and go, a few locals pay cash or sign tickets refusing to use cards, even our private company cards We're spread out here with plenty of sunshine and a low incidence of the virus, three cases and one death.

I have limited my travels to trips for parts I can't buy local and to an out of town bank I use, get my business done and return with out any extra stops, Groceries and other necessitates have all been bought local to avoid any extra outside contact then necessary. Yesterday I was going to treat myself to an ice cream bar but the thought of going in to the store and opening the case that everyone else had touched to get one out robbed me of that desire, I didn't need it any way.😊

If I lived where some of you do I'm sure I would have a different out look on things then I do.
I sincerely hope that your area remains clear. Maybe, by the time this wave flows over the central US, enough lessons will have been learned and enough information and resources will be available to alleviate the really tough situations for y'all.
Just stay safe, be smart and be pro-active. If you are, and then nothing bad happens where you are ... that doesn't mean that the danger was overblown ... It means that the precautions WORKED!
And keep posting, please. Paranoia often needs a little sanity to keep it from consuming us! :D

It's early in your area, so it's going to be slow for a bit. Hopefully, enough lessons have been learned and enough precautions have been set in place that it STAYS that way! :fl

I still can't find any masks small enough to fit the chickens!:th
Been workin' on that. I've come up with a couple cool ideas, but the biddies keep trying to eat them ... Heck, I can't even get them to social distance properly. Wherever one goes, the others follow. Heaven forbid they miss something!

My dad always told me, wear protection. (do you think maybe, I was an unwanted child?)
Oh. Good. HEAVENS! I SOOOO want to respond to this ... but I don't dare go there. As punchy as we all are, and with the ... ummm ... wit ... we seem to generate .... Admin'll shut us down in a HEARTBEAT!
I WILL be a good girl ...
I WILL be a Good girl ...
I WILL be a Good Girl! ...

Now ... if I could just unclench my teeth ...

Okay - I give up .... but I'll keep it "nice>"
The medical experts" DO tell us that the masks are to protect others, not ourselves ... so, the analogy kinda works!
