True, and technically you're right, I don't live in those spots. I live in a near-by suburb. But it's a big culture in the area to say "I'm from Cleveland" and claim the whole area, even if you don't specifically live in that exact spot, and vice versa. Many CLEVELAND clevelanders would tell me I'm a clevelander even though I've never lived in those areas. Like, all the near-by areas ARE considered Cleveland to Clevelanders from my experience. XD Probably because there's so many unique hot spots all over and it's not crazy to drive from the east to west side around here.

My formative year (JR. & High School) were in So-Cal, specifically Orange County. I can totally agree with you about the culture of inclusion on a geographic scale when the idea you describe for being a "Clevelander" is just the same for my memories in thee OC.

Now adays the same is easily said for the DFW area AKA the Metro-plex (which is a semi-hotly debated term) and then the Micro-sphere is to be a Dentonite..... so (shrugs) yeah I totally get *IT.*

Fair enough but, if I may be given a little room to draw a picture here....

When I was OTR as driver-trainer for a while, I had many time enjoyed the I-90 chicane in front of the Burke Lakefront Airport! Being able to watch drivers have all those close calls on that curve for all sorts of reasons. :lau

The Home of thee "Dog Pound" in the bleacher section behind the goalposts....;)

That's not a "one stop light town" ya-know. (Smirks) So it's not fair to a$$ume you live around CSU, Linndale or actually in Cuyahoga Heights proper. True enough?
Speaking of close calls... I had one today! Almost got run off the highway 😂 This huge truck came like halfway into my lane! I was just driving along minding my own business (and paying attention) and next thing I know they’re like in my lane!! I’m like WTF!? And have to swerve over to avoid being hit and was partway on the noise strip thing. Thankfully they realized it and went back into their lane and then I went back into mine, honked once (though it was more like a little mouse squeak lol), and then sped away and got the heck out of there! I don’t know if maybe the truck just had a big blind spot or something or!? But even so they were definitely an idiot too because they didn’t have any signal on or anything and the move was very very sudden so blind spot or not they should not have jumped over. Oh and I was right next to them too so if I hadn’t been paying attention and hadn’t swerved I am sure I would have been hit. I was in my Subaru so not a tiny car (it’s an Outback) but compared to this truck it was lol I was like GEEZ DUDE!!

Omgoodness! Hopefully it was their blindspot, I have one even in my little hatchback versa 😑 in the front, almost hit a few pedestrians when I first got it so now I'm constantly making sure nothing hides in my blindspot. Glad you were paying attention and didn't get kicked off the roadway!

Like a tractor trailer or a regular truck?

Pickup trucks have the best visual view I think. I have driven a lot of vehicles and so far my GMC 2500 is amazing with no blind spots.

My Ford Focus has a ton of blind spots

Yeah hopefully! But even so, who just moves over like that without triple checking first or signaling or whatever!? I mean it was so sudden! One second they’re in their lane, next they’re in mine! :th this one is way better than my last one in terms of blind spots and such but it does still have a couple. But I’m lucky and spoiled in that it also has all the fancy blind spot detection and sensors and stuff for objects nearby on all sides and front and back so that’s nice. I am guessing this truck probably did not have that. I get so used to it I forgot a lot don’t haha but even so, it’s not a guaranteed thing and I always look anyway. And the worst thing is if he had hit me I would probably never be able to prove it was his fault unless some witnesses came forward or something because the damage could also result from me hitting him.

Big pickup truck. If that’s true then he totally should have been able to see me! 😂🤣 my car is white so not like it blends in with the asphalt lol

I’m lucky that mine doesn’t really have many because they made the windshield bigger and the little pole things narrower from the 2016 to this one (2020). So it’s way better than that plus has the safety features but even so it still has some. I worry sometimes when rounding corners. And also the inside mirror is big and kind of in the way sometimes haha

I think the worst is the camera for backing up and the people who assume that is enough. In a parking lot, an older gentleman almost backed into me and my son when we were walking. We were right at his back light when I noticed he was beginning to back up. I stopped and waved my arms at him and he finally spotted us. As I passed, I yelled "look over and check your blind spots!" He literally rolled down his window and said "I have my cameras!" Flipped me off and drove off. I was in disbelief at his amount of ignorance! Smh

Oh wow that’s ridiculous!! I usually always check anyways although my camera or sensors or whatever are especially good or something because it always detects even pedestrians and cars behind me and freaks out and brakes 😂

I think sensors with it are a little better than just cameras because my last one was just a camera and I backed into a few things even with looking first but it definitely depends. Mine actually has the auto braking/anti collision thing too which I kind of hate because sometimes it does it for a bush or something lol but it is handy sometimes! I mean, I never really need it because I’m always careful, but it’s nice having the extra assurance sometimes haha

I honestly thought I would hate it and I do somewhat because I don’t like the car driving for me and too many people take it for granted and don’t learn to check for themselves but still. It’s nice sometimes because sometimes even with checking and paying attention, you don’t always see everything. But I’m lucky in that I learned to drive first with an old crappy car and check for myself.
