Your river caught on fire?!
Do you have a news link or a site link with any visual?

I'm harkening back to the -umm, Hudson River/bay area in the 60's & early 70's????

Well, first you need to know that our river is really famous for having caught on fire a lot.

Mostly from pollution? It's been doing better, though, since the EPA stepped in, because holy cow why is the river able to catch on fire so easy that's not OK, so it's been 51 years since it was last on fire. But because it was so famous for it, the river is often known as "the burning river" and lots of groups in the area use the "burning river" moniker. There's micro breweries who have named products for it, there's charity events with the name, etc.

But then today;

A tanker spilled on a highway, then the oil caught fire, and it spread through the storm drain to the river. So days since Cuyahoga river has been on fire; 0.

Wow. I don't even know what to say except that I feel physically, emotionally, and spiritually sick to read that. I'm so sorry and I feel sorry for the people, plants, non-human animals, and the water itself. In New Zealand, the Whanganui River is a "legal person" and has rights (https://www.nationalgeographic.com/culture/2019/04/maori-river-in-new-zealand-is-a-legal-person/).

My daughter and I climbed Mt. Ngauruhoe (Mt. Doom from The Lord of the Rings), the headwaters of the Whanganui River, and it's so beautiful there. I wish forests, rivers, the ocean, air, etc. had the same rights as corporations do :(

Well, I do have my location listed under my avatar.
Fair enough but, if I may be given a little room to draw a picture here....

When I was OTR as driver-trainer for a while, I had many time enjoyed the I-90 chicane in front of the Burke Lakefront Airport! Being able to watch drivers have all those close calls on that curve for all sorts of reasons. :lau

The Home of thee "Dog Pound" in the bleacher section behind the goalposts....;)

That's not a "one stop light town" ya-know. (Smirks) So it's not fair to a$$ume you live around CSU, Linndale or actually in Cuyahoga Heights proper. True enough?
