Hello folks, I regret to add more positive covid cases "geographically around me"....
Our school district has had in the last 3 weeks no less than 12 students and staff and a couple more offically acknowledged today.

And in the "family"; my FIL is now positive, currently in the hospital and seemed to talk this up as a hoax over the last several months. So, as I write this, my frustration is wedged between a rock & a hard place.

I won't say more beyond this update, here about this frustration. It's not wise.

Be safe y'all. And be sane as possible too.
So sorry to hear about your father-in-law. I hope he recovers and does well. ❤️

We have 45 cases on our outer island today which is a new record. Hawaii as a state has actually been good about lockdown and mask mandates and quarantine requirements for anybody coming here. Things kind of slacked a bit after memorial day and that’s when we saw the uptick in cases like in most places. Unfortunately the majority of cases here are in a few local nursing homes. Rules and safety guidelines were not followed and it spread like wild fire.🙁

Hopefully your FIL will be one of the lucky ones who recovers completely. It's just good 'animal husbandry' applied to ourselves.

It's dangerous to doubt sometimes. Wishing the best for you and your extended family.

So sorry to hear about your FIL. I hope his recovery is smooth and quick.

Most states are experiencing upticks in the number of cases. I'm hoping that the hospital expenses are what will finally be convincing to the folks who refuse to listen to the science. God only knows what the aggregate hospital expenses in the country have been. My daughter has patients in ICU for 3 weeks at a time. It's hard to even imagine what that cost is.

Can insurance companies keep up with these expenses? Can families keep up with their portion? ...IF they're insured. Can hospitals continue to operate without reimbursement? My daughter's major metropolitan hospital in a state consistently at the top of daily new cases is laying off non-essential personnel.

Sending positive thoughts for a quick recovery for your FIL.

My chronic fall/winter cough is back off and on right now, so I'm taking my temp every few days as a precaution. I feel bad going out even to the grocery right now. :T I guess it's a good thing I'm a homebody.

Thought I'd drop a pretty squash picture from earlier this month. :)
