Mink farms in Utah are being hit hard with covid and thousands of mink have died. A quick scan of multiple articles seems to show once it hits mink they pass rather quickly.
So far, the link has been made from human (the workers) to the mink, but not mink to human. Yet. It will be interesting as they research this out further as to why the mink is so susceptible.

Mink now join the dogs, cats, tiger(s), and lion. (I think I saw a story on a lion)

What I read had mention of concern for ferrets, weasels, and otters, but the articles focused on minks. I'm worried for the entire mustelid family, especially river otters.

There was also a mention of a specific protein found in the lungs of mink as a possible contributor, but I didn't follow up on that in my digging.

So... We do a lot. XD But it's always more of an ongoing goal rather than something with a definitive end.

Doesn't matter how slow your progress is, or if the end always seems a long way off. Every little thing you produce yourselves, trade with a neighbor, or upcycle for free, is one less dollar leaving the local economy to go into the coffers of some "big bankster" who shelters profits offshore to avoid taxes. Also one less piece of junk going into your local landfill, or making its way into a river or the ocean - paid for by your community, by all of us, instead of by the people who produced it in the first place.
It all makes a difference. I applaud what you're doing!

Just found out my sister was recently in close contact with someone who tested positive from the high school this morning. Now she has to stay quarantined until the test results are back.

Hello folks, I regret to add more positive covid cases "geographically around me"....
Our school district has had in the last 3 weeks no less than 12 students and staff and a couple more offically acknowledged today.

And in the "family"; my FIL is now positive, currently in the hospital and seemed to talk this up as a hoax over the last several months. So, as I write this, my frustration is wedged between a rock & a hard place.

I won't say more beyond this update, here about this frustration. It's not wise.
