Coronavirus, Covid 19 Discussion and How It Has Affected Your Daily Life Chat Thread

You may also be unsurprised to hear I also like anime. XD My whole house and I are nothing short of giant nerds. Most people have a mirror or a tasteful landscape over their mantle - we have a giant spray paint picture of mario and a dozen other video game characters so we're pretty obvious about it. About the only thing we aren't into is comic books and plenty of our friends are. That box has my partners commander decks in it. :lau The boys are always leaving their cards all over the place.
Correc-ta-mundo! Not surprised at all....

They sent me home. :(. My potassium is too low. 2.7. Where I have heart palpitations, and him looking at my history..the anesthesiologist says we're not doing this today. I need to get with my doc and get that settled. I guess I'm pretty low. The Dr. Came in and said he would talk with my Dr..get me on a pill and do it tommorow. The anesthesiologist was still there, told him... he says..I'll talk with him..you need this addressed for a longer period of time. .....Bummer!
Well, *THAT* is being "better safe than sorry" right??? Reducing the odds of any complication issues is always a good thing to my eyes.

What a bummer, Cynthia. I know you've got your timetable and got all your inner fortitude set to get this done as scheduled, but I'll tell you a story. About the same thing happened to my husband. He was scheduled for a minor procedure that was necessary for a more complicated one. His blood pressure was low and they turned him down for the anticipated procedure.

Then sent him, instead, to an ER to get a blood transfusion. They said they'd reschedule after the transfusion raised his BP. When that day came, he had even lower BP. Off they sent him for additional transfusions and then scoping from top to bottom to find out why he couldn't maintain his BP.

It saved his life. He was hemorrhaging internally from a burn he had gotten from radiation for prostate cancer that we thought was cured years before. They couldn't tell how long he had had the internal bleed. Just that it was getting worse. Meanwhile, we Didn't. Have. A. Clue. He could have died at any time because we were so clueless and not taking care of a problem we were unaware of.

There are reasons they need to be cautious. However annoying and inconvenient it may have saved you from much worse.

Meanwhile, have you contacted a local or regional Alzeimer's Assoc. They deal with this stuff. They may have ideas and resources for you.

Sending you strength because we can't be in UT to help in more material ways.

I was glad the anesthesiologist was on the ball. I've got an appt. Fri. to see what's up. He was wondering if my blood pressure meds have a diuretic in it..thinks I need to have the doc work on fixing my meds. I've not liked this one since it was changed. Anyway, will see what's up. I was thinking the same thing..better safe than sorry like ..eyc..said...that short for...electrycmonk...😉 I've had two heart ablations, low potassium can cause them to act up. The Anesthesiologist didn't want that happening on his table! They gave me an ekg because of my history..it was good this morning. Came home, it started acting up big time. I feel it often. I'm used to it. Two ablations, didn't work, they didn't dare go in and do another. Said it might do more harm than good. Oh well.

"Steady as she goes" (I'm a navy veteran)

All in due time. Glad the Friday appt is set up. I believe it will pan out smoothly. Would you keept us in the loop, this weekend with an update please?

Oh god! Been there, done that with my husband too. Can't even remember how many it took for his heart to settle down. Fortunately, we're near UCLA and there was a neuro cardiac specialist who could map the nerves to see which ones were the troublemakers. And he still has flutters, as you say.

I'm glad you're in the hands of people who are approaching this with appropriate care and caution.

My BIL just dropped off two severed heads they got from Spirit Halloween over the years. :) An excellent addition.
