Has anyone every tried to grow the squash, chayote ?@SnapdragonQ I feel that red clay thing tho, ours is red too. We have 6" of what could generously be referred to as "topsoil", and then you just hit solid clay bed the whole way down. Everything floods every year. Our surprise 'did well last year' test variety were the brulee butternut squashes. Really decent yield and did better than the honeynuts planted in the same bed. We're excited to do them all over again.
