Man, not looking forward to moving for just this reason. I'm going to be loathe to build my soil all over again. ;O; (Pardon the weeds.)

So beautiful, Mouse!

Our brand of clay is the adobe from which people built missions and homes that are still standing hundreds of years later. I've spent 20 years composting and making it arable. I'm happy to say I have flower and veggie beds that I can dig down into with my hands now. Of course we have another 1/8 of an acre that you need to start with a pickaxe.

I've got a flower bed along the roadside that I let go farrow some years ago. It's totally reverted to the clay. I had a notion a few months ago that I'd plant it with succulents. I went out to get started and I couldn't make a 6" hole! It's like concrete. Once upon a time it was all Spring bulbs and irises. I could kick myself for letting it get away from me!!!

When it comes to quilting, if I'm going to put hours of work into something and hope that it lasts a couple generations, I go to my local quilting shop. I go to Joanns for lots of stuff but NOT, generally speaking, fabric. You can feel the difference in the weave and the quality.

My favorite fabrics are watercolor-y batiks which are sooooo soft from all the washing involved in the process and yarn-dyed plaids. I just love the contrast of the free-flowing and the rigidly geometric.

Boy, somebody was really blessed by your years of hard work at your old place! Sure hope they appreciated it!
They said that they did. I had a small orchard, beautiful roses and peonies, an herb bed, berries everywhere, and lots of ornamentals and wonderful lilacs.
Some I brought with me too.
The place sold well so I was very happy about that.

My Cousin just posted this to FB ... and I HAVE to share!

So that's
1) "creeks rising fast" (check)
2) "croc-zilla" (check)
3) "bridge significantly over max load rating" (check)
4) "likelihood of bridge washed out?" ~50% and rising too." (Check)

Okay, we head north.... Upstream for a better crossing option for 2021....
Any objections or constructive suggestions?

Elliott is on 2 pot chews, tight T and pillow therapy. Vest is in the mail direct from manufacturer. We are going up the Mountain to escape the warzone for sure but I guess everyone has to practice setting off their bombs b4 setting off their bombs. We had 5 close to the house last eve. Poor Elliott. View attachment 2465161
You are having a war zone
Yeah, everyone around here spays and neuters! Nobody even really thinks twice about it, it’s just something you do aha and that’s awesome :love
yeah, not so much in the south.

There were some dogs I think last year that they imported from Asia into Wisconsin that brought brucellosis in! They didn’t test I guess although they’re not sure if they had it already or picked it up in Canada where they went first but still.
They also brought the canine flu.

Years ago, when house-hunting, we found a perfectly wonderful place with all the space we needed an a nice, big yard. All was beautifully on-track for a purchase until I found the little clause buried in the HOA. The main print noted that the number of dogs was not limited at all. The fine print said, "as long as their combined weight is under 40 pounds."
Needless to elaborate ... we did NOT buy the house ...
I hope I never have to live in HOA.
