Coronavirus, Covid 19 Discussion and How It Has Affected Your Daily Life Chat Thread

All the news on the Delta variant has a lot of people wearing masks in public again. It's not mandatory at all here in Massachusetts, but recommended. Yesterday I stopped at Trader Joes for groceries and nearly everyone was masked, except for this one strange woman who was maskless running around babbling about how we all realized the vaccine wasn't working. One of the other shoppers was about to engage her but I intervened and calmly steered her away and reminded her that you can't win an argument with a crazy person so just nod and smile and move on. I'm crossing my fingers that the booster shots will be available soon. JMHO!
Booster shots? I have not heard about this? Do they have one developed?

So far from what I hear, another shot of the same vac for a booster. Correct me if I'm wrong anyone.
Another shot if our levels have dropped will help is what I think they are saying.
But....
Just recently I heard our CDC director? Looked her up it was Rochelle Walensky, when asked said no data says we need it. Also when asked and I've heard a lot of it, was asked if people have had the JJ vaccine should they get should they now get one of the others, she said NO, no data suggests it, all the vaccines data are just fine, all the vaccines we have are working just awesome!!! no need to combine or add. Heard this about a week ago when she was asked some hard questions on FOX news Bret Baier.

It's just too soon to know! Many vaccinations are done annually, and these haven't been around that long. Just keep paying attention to the information as it comes out, and plan to act when needed.

Heck, might not feel like it, feels like forever but covid 19 hasn't been around that long. Yeah it'll take awhile for everything to balance out virus and vaccine.

:flI agree and am shocked at the number of maskless people here. I am at a festival this weekend…. HUGE crowds, I was the only one wearing a mask in the middle of them all. Of course, I probably shouldn’t have gone in the middle either but I wanted to get pics/have fun but yeah. There’s been a few other people wearing masks, mostly older people, but some kids too, but otherwise no. Maybe like 5-10 out of thousands. :th
Went to Lego Land NY this weekend, Goshen NY. Was kinda shocked. My work mandated masks again a couple weeks ago. All of upstate NY has been if vaccinated no mask, unvaccinated mask indoor and all children of course under whatever the age is for vaccine mask indoors. This place thousands of people I'd estimate 10% masked, no social distancing elbow to elbow. This place closest I've ever been to the city. 50/50 upstate masked in Walmart from my estimate. Hardly anybody at that Lego Land not far from the worst covid death place in the entire country.
Kids there 50/50, I'd say. Some kids masked some not at all.
Upstate where I live, every store all little kids have masks on.
Just makes no sense to me. Upstate we don't even hardly know anybody that has had covid even fewer that has died from it but we're complying with the rules.
Downstate.... It was like covid had never happened.
We also stopped at a Golden Corral buffet there. The only two upstate have been closed this whole time and maybe bankrupt never open again IDK? Haven't been to a buffet since covid hit all closed here even on Native American casino property that is exempt from the shutdown.
No masks wore by anybody there and no social distancing and help yourself just like usual.
We wore no masks, kinda refreshing. Like covid never existed all good now.
No mask for us or kids.
First time being around this many people since covid hit.
Update/ let you all know what happens next few days if anyone gets sick.

Oh wow that’s shocking!! At this thing, seemed to be mostly older people masked or little kids. A couple people my age but mostly they were too “cool.” But it seemed like some people even would put masks on their little kids but not wear one themselves.
