I want this all to be behind us, and as long as we have folks (including some of my relatives!) who won't do the right thing, here we all are.
Today I had a conversation with an ER staffer, scary and illuminating. Thirty and forty year olds dying, having leg amputations, awful!

When front line workers kept working (with no vaccine) they were "heroes", but now with a vaccine (that does not prevent infection or spread) and they think the PPE has worked and feel no need to get a shot, they are holding you back? Am I understanding correctly?

I work in a school. We have had numerous cases since we started this fall. Yet have not shut down, and only report cases that are told to us by health department. (Doctors and medical lab reports do not count as cases according to our administration.) I am angry about the lack of transparency, and the urging for staff to get vaccinated yet I can pick it up and infect my kids who are too young to get vaccinated! We were in such a hurry to shut down when adults were affected, but now that it’s kids no one cares about the infection rate anymore. I’m very disappointed in our current federal and state administration for not mandating shut downs in high-caseload areas. It’s worse in my area now than it was last fall...

A dear friend of mine lost her mother to Covid yesterday. :hit Multiple levels of tragedy. She caught it from one of her sons who had “a bit of a cold” and went to visit his mother. I mean who does that???:barnie So now the facility has 22 cases, roughly half of which are pneumonia, the rest got psychosis, which is what happened to the poor mother. I haven’t heard about any other deaths so far, my heart just bleeds for all the families involved and the staff who are doing their best short handed like everyone else!
Why are they letting people in to such a vulnerable community.

From covid or co morbidities? I didn’t know leg amputations were a covid problem.

My gd class teacher had it and spread it to all children in class. How ironic. My gd didn’t test positive because her parents had it last dec. All kids that are testing positive have no symptoms. Teacher was vaccinated.
