Can you cite the CDCs study specifically from that previous article? It had a link to the Israeli study but not the CDCs; or I simply missed it? Not arguing for either side here because I think its a personal choice and I think its important that people educate themselves so they can make the right decision for them. News articles can be biased :thumbsup
No..I can't 't cite a CDC study on the Israeli health system, CDC is an U.S.agency.
Our points are the same; the one you cited was from a site that promotes studies that are not peer-reviewed. Non-peer-reviewed data is typically shunned as evidence.
If I sound argumentative or snotty, I apologize, as it is not my intent. Hazard of the written word w/o inflection.
BBC could be biased, as cld other news sources. I just happened to choose that one article, not bc it was BBC, but bc the content is indicative of everything I've heard abt Israel, they thought it was under control but it came back. I hope that make sense.

Sorry I think you misunderstood me. I wanted to read specifically the CDC study on the vaccines being more effective than natural immunity. I read the Israeli study already.

Wouldnt a "covid-19-like illness" be any coronavirus? Like the flu or SARs? Rather vague if you ask me.

The new study runs counter to an Israeli analysis, made public in August, that suggested the opposite, with natural immunity seemingly offering greater protection than vaccination.
“Vaccine-induced immunity is way better than infection and recovery, what some call weirdly ‘natural immunity,’” Baylor College of Medicine infectious disease expert Dr. Peter J. Hotez tweeted on Friday afternoon. “The anti-vaccine and far right groups go ballistic, but it's the reality.”

I wonder why the results were different? This is the real reason people are wary of the shot. Its not a cultural or irrational thing. Its conflicting information. When you say one thing and do another it makes it hard for people to trust you.
Had to look this up to figure out what they were talking abt. Basically, notvthere for vax, not confirmed dx,but w/s/s https://www.vdh.virginia.gov/corona...d-19-data-insights/covid-like-illness-visits/

We had sim situation, preschooler & Dad had it, Mom & baby didn't 2 went upstairs,2 stayed down. Managed to have no cross contamination. Ditto w/ nurse, she came and went from the basement, everyone else stayed on main level, and she pumped so was able to cont providing milk w/o cross. Those were all minor cases, ofcourse. Yes, rapid test can be inaccurate, J&J less effective. If you get booster, one suggestion is to get what you didn't get last time. So Moderna, get Pfizer, or visa versa.
According to them testing today, they said you can get a false negative, but never a false positive with the quick test. That's why she's waiting for her swab test to come back.

I think I said that they were waiting for a swab test. No, she did a spit test. A lot more accurate. Waiting on that.
You did. I was agreeing w/you.🙂 I had to pick my gran up from school one day bc he had a coughing fit & teacher was nervous. Turned out he chugged water too fast. 🙄 School nurse wasn't concerned bc there were no other s /s but was respecting teacher's concern by sending him home. Thats when they told me they wouldn't accept a home test even if I used one.

Look in the transaction histories and the subawar

and

https://www.usaspending.gov/award/ASST_NON_R01AI110964_7529

Look in the transaction history and scroll horizontally to see that the money went for
"GENETICALLY ENGINEERED ANTEROGRADE MONOSYNAPTIC VIRAL..."

Look in the sub awards to see where the money went to "WUHAN INSTITUTE OF VIROLOGY CHINESE ACADEMY OF SCIENCES"

Both are listed as open and both still have "total money obligated" that is more than they have received. But neither actually received money in 2021. So
Thank you for finding the source.

I am a long hauler, I was vaccinated because my Cardiologist said that for some long haulers their symptoms would resolve themselves after vaccination. After my second shot it seemed that my heart issues had resolved. I was taking my meds to slow my heart rate and it was getting dangerously low, so I stopped taking them and I was no longer having the tachycardia. I thought, wow this is great! But it didn't last. after about a month I was back to taking my meds. I still have the tachycardia with abnormal heart beat, taste and smell still messed up. brain fog and exhaustion.
I've heard that they say being vaccinated only helps about 20% of long haulers, I guess I was not part of that.

Dec 8th marks my 1yr anniversary.
I am sorry it did not help.
