Also JnJ is kinda shit compared to Moderna (not the official stance of the CDC, LOL)
When the 3 vaccines approved in the USA came out they were pushed as all being equally efficacious. That was certainly true here in Vermont, our governor even got the J&J, I think to boost its cred.

What they weren't saying (or said in really small "type") is that their basis for efficacy was "not in the hospital or the morgue". It WASN'T how likely you are to get sick and be infectious to others. The mRNA vaccines were listed as 90+% effective against getting a symptomatic case. J&J was "69% effective against getting a moderate to severe case. To me that means "you will most likely get Covid if you are exposed, you might get pretty sick but you probably won't go to the hospital and get intubated". Thanks but no thanks.

So yeah I agree with you. If J&J was the only choice I MIGHT have taken it but given the existence of the mRNA vaccines I would have walked out if the vaccine site was giving out J&J. Fortunately J&J wasn't very available and we knew what vaccine was to be given at the site when we signed up.

I wonder which "booster" Gov Scott will get. My guess is "not J&J".

This is the part I don't like- immunity for the flu is also only 6 months, but the flu tends to go away for warmer months.
Yep, people spend more time outside instead of in stuffy indoor spaces.

My brother's entire family had it twice. They had alpha and delta. Theyre unvaccinated.
:( So are they NOW considering getting vaccinated or figure since they've had it twice they are probably safe now?

OK now I wanna know too (nosey). You are totally welcome to tell both of us to eff off.
Oh heck no!! Inquiring minds want to know!!!

Didn't that article I posted say5 months immunity?..and Delta + is blooming. 😔 But they say it's not any worse than Delta can be, just a lot more transmissable. .......I think I'll stick w/vaxing.

Initially, J&J wasn't available here. I read today that they have accepted it now, but "have not loaded it into the system", so for now, still not available. Not sure what changed their minds, unless they fig it's an adequate booster when you've had one of the others initially.

Interesting news here! Kids got their results back. Remember, they both had two tests. The first was the quick.. Austin's came back positive. Bronwyn's negative. Their saliva tests...same thing! They just got the results. Thought for sure she would have it. She's got a cold. She had the Moderna, he had the J&J. I tried to get him to get the booster. He said he wasn't worried about it. Well now he's really upset about his smell and taste being gone. Two others in the family had that, still aren't back to normal after one being a year, the other only a month. I am still ok. Had the Moderna.
