Dr. McCullough's McCullough Report had a guest who has seen thousands of covid patients. He has also very successfully guided people on how to not get covid - for both vaxxed and unvaxxed people.

On days you go out, gargle twice a day with 2 tsp povidone-iodine in 6 oz water. Then rinse with scope. Also nasal rinse.

When you have known exposure to covid, do the same rinses for four days even if you don't go out.

When you have known significant exposure to covid, do the same rinses four times a day.

This has been used for other oral/nasal infection prevention and treatment.

The guest doctor said dentists are well aware of this. I looked for conformation and found several sources including this https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6767541/

Edit to add: use only the mouthwash version in the mouth and nasal spray in the nose. And there are some people who shouldn't use it - allergic to iodine, and such. The package insert is linked a couple of posts down

Heard a joke about that whenever someone would say the word 'depends', best friends dad would say it, when I was a teen, but can't say it on here lol.
Another word he had a saying for was 'if', I could do this or that 'if' he'd say " frog could leap to the moon 'if' he didn't keep hitting his butt on the ground" took me a bit to understand what he meant.

My mom used to say that about frogs too. She also used to say, "if wishes were horses, beggars would ride."

Wonder why rinse with scope
https://www.drugs.com/mtm/betadine.html says
"...To use Betadine spray in the mouth, spray directly into the mouth or throat. Leave the medicine in place for 15 seconds, then spit it out. Avoid swallowing the spray. Use once every 2 hours as needed.

To use Betadine as a mouth rinse, gargle or swish the liquid for 30 seconds, then spit it out. Do not swallow the liquid. Use up to 4 times per day. ..."

I'm guessing gargling with scope afterwards is to avoid swallowing it? It can't be too much of an issue or the other directions would include it too.

Hm, this website also says don't use the Betadine solutions made for skin application - in the interview, the dr actually said "povidone iodine" most of the time he was talking about it, and at one point said that was betadine.

Here is the package insert of the mouthwash version https://www.hpra.ie/img/uploaded/swedocuments/32259436-0f7a-4e67-8a7c-2228c2b6ac79.pdf

Betadine, and any iodine type product, damages cells it contacts, and would mess up the normal flora in your mouth too. Not something to do frequently! And there's nothing like having an orange mouth!
Better tasting, how about rinsing with booze? And of course, don't swallow...
Wearing a N95 face mask makes all that unnecessary anyway.
