Respectfully disagree
Especially if you take off that mask and then dont wash your hands. Just by washing your mitts you can mitigate the spread. Dont touch something and then scratch your eye or pick your nose. And touching something with a glove or sleeve also doesnt help if you then touch that glove or sleeve to your face. If people just werent nasty the spread could be mitigated. I think the masks only help because they keep people from coughing on others. How hard is it to just cover your freaking mouth when you cough or sneeze? Arent you taught this since you were a child?

Happily vaccinated, had a breakthrough case six months later, and not hospitalized. Now getting my booster in late November, and still wearing that facemask.
Very sadly, not having holiday dinners with unvaccinated family either, miserable!
So many people have a non-N95 mask on, not even covering their nose. Then constantly readjusting it, because it moves a lot. And pulling it down to talk. All reasons that 'masks aren't effective'; because they often aren't actually worn!!!
Try that in a surgical suite!

It's hard to expect children to wear masks properly when the adults around them often don't.
And having children rinsing their mouths with betadine? No way!!!

Even if they did wear them correctly, the kids are allowed to sit unmasked at lunch in the cafeteria. Go figure. I like the masks (more reasons than covid, lol) but even my 6y.o. sees how his peers are at school and he has told me "so-and-so doesnt, so I dont". And he still doesnt fully understand even with trying to stress the importance [to me] that he wears one.

Schools are a breeding ground for bacteria. Perfect example being the lunch room:
Kid wearing a mask gets in lunch line
Cafeteria worker wearing mask improperly fills the tray
Kid touches milk
Kid touches money
Kid hands money to gloved and masked cafeteria worker
Kid goes to table and removes mask
Kid starts eating
In that entire scenario everybody in it could have been infected. The worker not covering their mucus membrane. The worker wearing gloves touching filthy money. The kid not washing their hands after touching their mask to remove it. You cant ask kids to understand this but you should expect adults to.
