According to the news this morning omicron shares dna with the common cold so they are now only still concerned about the delta variant. With omicron dna being similar in a mutation to the common cold I wonder if perhaps we are almost out of the woods or if we are just barely seeing the horizon.

They need more testing still but it looks like cows milk and antihistamines block covid replication. They were doing this trial in south africa when omicron emerged.

Oh... that sounds like horribly irresponsible oversimplification. The illness with the omicron variant so far has been pretty mild, comarable in /severity/ to a cold. Their genetic sequences are still quite different from one another.

I'm seriously considering getting a second J&J AND a Moderna backup. Any input?

Given the J&J was "advertised" as 66% effective against getting a moderate to serious case of Covid and the mRNA vaccines as 90+% of getting a symptomatic case, I wouldn't consider taking the J&J unless your only concern is not ending up in the hospital or the morgue. All three are presumably better then 90% effective against those outcomes.

Not trying to be insensitive but HIV is far more deadly a coronavirus than covid is. At least from these numbers.

You got me there. Being as its a blood borne pathogen you could only get it from blood or saliva contaminated with blood. However it is important to note that part of any work related training is how to deal with blood clean up due to blood borne pathogens. And much like covid you dont know who has it.
