My dad went to 3 different grocery stores today and every single one was sold out of paper towels and TP :th

Might try some other stores later on. I just got chicken feed at our local feed store and now I’m at TSC getting a bigger feeder for the boys lol

What kind of business?
Where have you been KD? Have not noticed you lately.

SnapdragonQ, do you have any recipes for GF bread? I haven't been able to find a good one yet. Thank you!:)
Um, yes.
But much depends on what you have at hand to work with. As you may know, we can't use just one flour to replace regular flour, but rather a blend. However many different blends can make a decent loaf. Message me, tell me a little more of what your experience is and what you are working with, and I can share more.
And if you just a need a good pre-packaged mix, I can help point you in the right direction.

Be patient too, I haven't received a PM yet so am figuring this out as we go along.

Curious minds are...well...curious!

Given your climate I can see why you could get away with just arched wire and no support system. Do you find the tarps catch the wind, or are you (they) situated so that air moves through more freely? Does leaving much of the sides uncovered help?
I have not had any problems with them so far. I have 2x2's in the ground at approx a 45% angle about 2' in the ground screwed to the base frame sides opposite of each other like front right rear left. I think the tarp would RIP or the zip ties break first.
They are situated facing south. So the sun comes up on the eat side and sets on the west. If they were situated east/west the sun would beat in from the front and back

I will not presume to know what every store is doing to handle this “crisis.” What I can say is that this specific store is well managed. Clearly you are not a fan of TJ’s that’s OK. Don’t shop there. I shop there for some of my groceries because the prices are good, they offer more sustainable seafood options than any other store I have found, have fewer food recalls and the staff is friendly, courteous and helpful. But maybe that’s just Massachusetts.

All true here in NJ, but it's an hour drive, and I'm reluctant to chance that they might have a waiting line to enter.

Not sure how you meant "just a new learning curve" and I don't intend to be contrary, but I've been at this for 15 years now. Long before good recipes were invented or easy to find mixes could be had on grocery store shelves, Whole Foods (and the like) or even online places like Amazon. It has taken years to be able to make and bake items that are on par with their regular wheat or gluteny counter parts. :D
I agree. What I meant by learning curve was handling gluten free dough is different from wheat doughs. Like pie dough. I found a recipe that produced a very nice crust but I couldn’t roll it like wheat dough. I found that dropping balls of dough into pie pan and shaping it with wet hands worked really well. I don’t make any gluten free desserts anymore. I learned how to make them because a few of my coworkers had celiacs and I wanted them to enjoy the baked goods I made for my office.

We've been getting texts instead of calls 🙄
Since the concern over the virus the spam phone calls here have lessened, and we have not received a robo call in the past 2 days. Anyone else noting this ? This is both cell phones and our landline.
Yes, when covid 19 was just rearing its head here, we also noticed an uptick in dubous looking texts from a 4 or 5 digit number claiming to be useful in some way during this crisis and containing a link...
Heck no I'm not gonna click!!!
But the last few days have been sooo much more peaceful... No texts and far fewer calls on landline as well. Only one today and it was intercepted by nomorobo!
:wee
I need more shavings soon.

My flock is getting pizza today... If anyone has a problem I don't care 😂 they deserve a treat. My husband's work has tons of leftover pizza they're going to toss.
Love it! My older girls love leftover pizza.

Today was a home cooking day for all the chooks (and first time for the chicks). It's a nasty day and the load in the car hasn't been quarantined 3 days yet - includes feed - so 1 part each of dry dog and cat kibble, oatmeal, grits, dog biscuits and variety middles type kibble heated im microwave a few minutes, stirred and cooled. Cost about < $1, as most was scavenged last fall. All happy with results.

When I went to Walmart last I took a can of Lysol with me. I sprayed the cart, I sprayed the conveyer belt, touch screen, the code reader wand, and the keypad!
I'm with you there! Especially since hearing that standard cart wipes are ineffective ant destroying virus. My spray disinfectant is in the car. Any cash or credit card used goes into the bag with the merchandise i dont plan to quarantine in the car 3 days. So on entering the car, first is spray the bag and contents, and car keys. Then use sanitizer (also on hand in a zip bag, pre-applied to wipes at home) to do my hands, steering wheel and door handles.

I haven’t been in the store since this hit, but they are limiting how many people/ customers can be in the store at one time and have wipes for the carts, which is pretty standard for most stores in Massachusetts. And there’s no need for PPE in a grocery store. Just keeping it clean.
Really? When the virus can stay airborne for up to 3 hours?
