My dr just had me take a MMR titer. Not sure why. Might be a new medical thing for people over 65.
They're finding that the MMR vaccinations we probably got as kids ARE useful but wear off after several decades. I had to take another one when I started Nursing School, even though I had the original vac. card from 1960.
Titers seem to be the Gold Standard for vaccination verafication today. We have to take them all the time. It depends on the facility. (Its a blood test to look for specific antibodies.)

I took one when my grandson was born. He has special needs and his parents needed lots of help, so I was with him a lot. He's 4 now, and has had his shots.

I am much happier to take a blood test rather than a vaccine.

I remember rubella or German measles. Not mumps
It's probably my age. I had mumps on one side. I was very little - but, it was painful enough that I remember. Mom wrote down the child, illness and dates in her medical book for all of our illnesses. Mom's gone, now. And, I imagine the old medical book is, too. Who knows ~ we may come across it, yet. We still have to clear out their home.

I did get that big, airgun shot that left a scar on my shoulder, when I was a little older. I remember that SOB, too!

Funny enough ~ even though I was exposed to chickenpox many times, as a child ~ I was 28 when I got them. From my son.

My sister was 30 years old, 9 months pregnant, in August, when she got chickenpox! Poor thing! Her blisters dried up just in time for her daughter's birth, TG. The doctor wasn't sure what to do! Fortunately ~ baby was late

Same here! My Mom said, "I tried and tried to expose you".
I was really sick with high fever for 2-3-4 days, still have some scars.

Had measles and mumps as a kid.

Seems they want to sell vacs for everything now. SMH.
Fear marketing.
