In my country (NL) the national health organisation made the announcement that its the first time there are NO covid patients in IC anymore.
But they also warned that the Covid virus is still amongst us. The new types are sickening too, but less dangerous.
Did they actually test everyone in ICU. Many people just carry it.
 
If I remember right:
1150 before Covid. Upscaling it to 1700 during Covid.
I don’t know for sure how many there are now. I think it was back to 1200 at the start of 2023.
Just a side note. When they say that "The ICU's are at full capacity", it's a scare quote.
They're at almost full capacity every day (design capacity). If it's busy, they try to keep a bed open for an emergency or a "Code Blue". If they need more space ICU patients are quickly moved into the ED, PACU, Stepdown and Cardiac Care Units.
