This is my little sister practicing vertical social distancing:

Huh? Please share more??

I know we've left this topic behind, I just want to light a fire under your rear about it. During my early chicken keeping years I had several different types of ducks.
Muscovy drakes are well behaved....Kaki Campbells...Not. So. Much.

I had a couple of young drakes who started off like your cockerels, who were very amorous but clueless, and in the matter of just a few days nearly killed one of my Muscovy girls.
My birds had free range over 5 acres with oodles of hiding places and lots of building choices, but they specifically sought her out and ganged up on her because she was very docile. She was badly injured and I got rid of those male ducks pronto!

Oh wow that’s scary!! was your girl okay!?

I think I’m going to keep all mine separated and locked up from now on until I can get rid of them.

Although they haven’t tried anything since the earlier incident and are staying completely out of sight of the girls now but I don’t want to risk it so will keep them separate after today. I’m also out here watching closely so maybe that is part of it.

I put a bunch of forest litter (leaves, pine needles, etc.) in their pen so that should hopefully keep the occupied for a while while in lockup. :p

Lot's of peeps getting interested in raising chickens now that many areas are out of eggs.

What's worse: Our local feed store had to stop offering baby chicks (they get about 200 every day this time of year and pretty much sell-out each day)... so it's super unfortunate that when people are super wanting to buy chicks, they aren't available.

Demand went up, and supply went to zero :(

She did live, but it was touch and go for a week or two. She was never the same after though.

The feed stores are selling out fast here as well. I know I am getting a lot more requests for eggs than my birds can fill.

Haven't been off the property since the 20th and that was to the farmer with the feedmill
I just went to my parents on Saturday but I haven't seen the inside a store for some time. I basically go to my parents on Saturdays and go straight home.

My husband has done all the shopping. He's heading to TSC right now for a waterer

My feed store was totally out of chicks when I went the other day. Not sure if they are getting more or not.
