@KDOGG331 , why not start a thread about your cockerel problems ? I doubt that they have Covid19. Folks have been telling you all along that this behavior was going to happen.
Yeah, I know, sorry. I didn’t mean to hijack.

Seriously you could use the meat... But make sure you do it correctly and get advice from people. You have to rest the meat from 3 to 5 days... That is the key to it all.Yeah, I know, sorry. I didn’t mean to hijack.I just thought since the topic of problem roosters came up I’d mention it. But I won’t bring it up again. I know it’s probably normal and people mentioned that but I didn’t realize it’d be quite so violent. Or sudden. It’s like a switch flipped. But I’ve listed them all on my state thread so I’m hoping they’ll be gone soon. If not, I’ll eat them. Keeping one boy and the girl.

What does it look like?
You guys are like my eyes because I haven't gone anywhere for a while. Only place I've gone is my parents.

My method of keeping a junior roo in line was to wrap his feet in tape or material. This gives the hens a real good start.
I am trying to and I loved them all for a long time, especially because I hatched them myself in November (first hatch ever, ended up with only 1 girl lol), but they are really trying my patience now!! I hatched 9 but have since lost 2 so I now have 6 boys and 1 girl. 16 1/2 weeks old.
First of all, they’ve been crowing their little heads off the last couple weeks, especially one. But that’s not so bad. I can deal with that. I expected that.
What I did NOT expect was them ganging up on one of my older hens, chasing her around the yard, pinning her down, and them all pecking at her!! Even when I chased them off they did it again!
To me, it didn’t look like they were trying to mate with her, it looked like they were trying to kill her or something and it was horrific!!
I have a few that I love and am hoping to keep but the rest need to GO! Or at least not be let out with my girls anymore. They sleep in separate coops but have been letting them free range. Never had any problems until today. They mostly stick to themselves. Now they are ganging up on my almost 5 year old EE hen!![]()
