400 cases yesterday. 20 in my county.
Might have to venture out to the store soon, everyone pretty much ate everything. It's like people are constantly hungry. I find myself saying 'you just ate' several times throughout the day.šŸ˜’
Last time I went to the store it was slim pickens.. hardly anything left, not even kidding.

Sorry for the confusion @BDutch, but this is how many of us are dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.
Exactly! Especially being stuck home. I think it’s only natural.
Sorry, if it bothers you, this is my coping mechanism, being quarantined inside!!! There's enough false statements from our leader to make matters worse. I'm not letting my 14yr old daughter go back to school until I feel it's safe. She might not go back until fall. As an ICU RN with 25yrs experience, I think this is just the beginning Folks!! It really hasn't spread to the middle of the country yet, It's on both coasts and the numbers are rising daily. We had to rent Ventilators during an especially active INFLUENZA outbreak in the past. US hospitals do not have enough Ventilators to handle the number of patients who need them. That's the TRUTH. Hospitals have been running on bare-bones equipment because of the cost. It's hard to justify equipment sitting idle waiting for a pandemic. I don't blame hospitals, I blame the government.
Yeah same. And the chickens haha and I agree with you!! I think it is only going to get worse and I am scared for when it really hits and what’s going to happen. Like you said, I do not think the hospitals are prepared (not their fault) and I think there will be a lot more deaths. :(

And thank you for your work and service and everything! :hugs

That can’t be easy being an ICU nurse in general, let alone in such stressful chaotic times as now!! :hugs

Eckkkk... Covid-19 has made my retirement account residents seriously ill.
Some investments are near death.
I've unfortunately no penalty free access to get out any for a few more years though.

So looking at all this ongoing misery in the media and now my account (since probably have to file tax to prove eligibility for a share of the covid-19 package just signed) has mad me sooooo tired, that I let out such a huuuuge yawn it sounded like a male lion's calll.

My chicks in the brooder totally went berserk!!!

Who knew chickens have an instinctive fear of the sound of a lion?

Now I'm roaring with laughter every time the chicks react to hearing another yawn!

Good morning. Here's the latest from Massachusetts: 1838 confirmed cases of coronavirus, only 15 deaths so far. We don't have a shelter-in-place order, however our Governor has issued a stay-at-home advisory. Only essential businesses remain open. Getting out yesterday gave me some comfort that my regular grocery store is still managing their stock well and keeping their store clean. I don't have any plans to venture out for the next 3 weeks. I am considering buying an incubator if there are any available. But I can do that online. Stay safe and keep washing those hands.
Thanks for the info!!! Was wondering what the latest here was but had not looked it up yet.

And an incubator is an excellent idea!! :D

@twendt - wise on your part. What is happening here is about l.5 weeks behind NY, and you are most likely several weeks behind us. Even with social distancing the numbers are increasing albeit somewhat more slowly. It will be interesting to see NY numbers today.
I think I did hear that last week or sometime that the actual numbers are about 2 weeks behind and it will take that long to know if it is working, like the social distancing stuff.

I could be wrong, but I thought they said they were going to use 2018 tax returns if no 2019 return has been filed. Surely you filed taxes last year?

I just ordered one from Amazon. It will be here at end of April. So after I get that, I can hatch my own chicken eggs. And yes, I do have a rooster and my chickens are dual purpose.

Just got back from town. It appears that, at least in my part of the world, people are adhering to the governor's directives. Traffic is perhaps 1/4 of normal. Amish market was well stocked with everything, and patronage was slightly below normal - many wearing gloves and masks. Went to TSC (wiped down my cart handle) and got some feed. I am now well stocked. Flemington NJ TSC just got in a shipment of chicks - recently unpacked if their plaintive cheeping is any indicator. People are adjusting to the new normal.

Really? Where when - missed that....
Did file last year as head of h. But not yet for this year, but will not be as head of h.
I read it on several news websites. And in the past when the do an economic stimulus, it's meant exactly as that. They want us to take the money and buy stuff to support the economy. However, I would dare to say that as in the Bush stimulus years ago, we ended up paying for it later.
