NOBODY planned. This was entirely unexpected and the whole country, heck, the whole world, was unprepared for this. Not at all the nurses faults.

There’s tons of stories all around the country directly from nurses, doctors, EMTs, etc., themselves if you bothered to look it or or pay attention. I hardly think it’s “fearmongering hysteria” to state that we were unprepared for this and are in desperate need of PPE. It’s simply the truth.

If we're not prepared we should have been. People have been predicting such things forever.

I saw a 3D model of an infected person's lungs made by a doctor. The normal part of the lung was blue, and the infected part where cells were dying was yellow. The yellow parts were over most of both lungs! Normally with pneumonia or other respiratory problems, only a part of the lungs is involved. This is a nasty bug folks!
Good time to eat really healthy... I haven't ate this healthy in years. I'm dropping weight like crazy too.

I'm not ingesting anything that won't fuel my body to fight off something. I'm amping up fruits and veggies. Yesterday I had veggie pasta with whole green beans... The veggie pasta is spinach and zucchini

I have been staying home but I still worry that someone may bring the virus to me with the sale of my eggs. I do have to handle money and I have no idea who has handled it. I do keep disinfecting wipes next to the change jar. I have to keep eggs out to sell. I can't stockpile them.

You can run your cash through the washing machine. Put it in a lingerie bag so the change won't chip the paint on your drum. Iron the paper money to dry it or just leave it out.

I hear you. I started having a couple of tablespoons of plain, full fat Greek yogurt with breakfast everyday to keep my gut healthy about 2 months ago. I’m not crazy about yogurt but it does help. I normally eat very healthy, minimal processed foods. So this is my regular normal.

@FortCluck, I think you might be the minority. Most people I’ve talked to are more like this: :gig :gig:gig

Sounds like certain states are stirring up the fearmongering by declaring emergencies so they can get their hands on federal funds. What do these states have in common (LOL)?

Interesting that in one post you criticize the administration for not being prepared for an unprecedented and completely unforeseen global emergency, yet here you mock certain states for trying to prepare for what they can now clearly see is probably coming to their communities. Can't have it both ways.

I think most of that damage is due to cytokine storms, which is what happens in ARDS. The immune system overreacts and damages the lungs irreparably. If they would focus on boosting and modulating the immune system instead of trying to fight the virus, they might have better results. They treated 50 moderate to severely sick patients in China with high dose vitamin C IVs, and no one died.

They're actually doing what normal people do every day: live their lives based on assessed risks. 80% of people hardly get sick or even know it. Those are pretty good odds. If they could play Vegas or the lottery with those same odds they'd be filthy, filthy rich.

Some of us are the 20% that are likely to suffer and die thanks to this 80% not taking this seriously.
