It’s okay, I probably misinterpreted it myself! Hard to tell on the internet. I apologize too. Anyway, thank you.

This makes a lot more sense and you are absolutely right!! I don’t really agree with the people calling it a “war”, seems a bit insensitive to everyone who’s died in actual wars, but I do think it is a major problem and has to be stopped. Wildfire might be a more accurate comparison since it seems to be spreading like one with no signs of stopping anytime soon. :(
Wars and plagues are 2 different things. Wars are started by angry men, plagues have been a constant human companion as people spread across the world.

My father ate some weird stuff - some of which I liked, but I could never handle the Limburger cheese and onion on rye sandwiches. He only ate them when he had a bad cold and couldn't smell the cheese.
I have always always wanted to try limburger. That Andrew Zimmerman guy ate it on his show once and it looked so delicious and gooey. I don't care if it stinks, I want some!!! Cheese ftw only the gooey kind tho!

This is a short term crisis but if it mutates, which viruses frequently do, it can get even worse.
Today, we have much better science, health care, internet and media than they did in the past centuries.
Without those things, the pague of Justinian killed 1/4 of the globe's population in 541/542 AD. The Bubonic plague killed over half of the globe's population in 1350.
Smallpox killed over 10% of the earth's population in 1520, including 90% of native Americans. Entire tribes were wiped out.
Spanish Flu of 1918 killed 50 million. Aids has killed 35 million.
Without all our information (including good journalism) we would be seeing numbers like that.
One's chosen news source which denies the science is putting the unenlightened at risk.
I'm appalled at the pastors/ministers who continue to plan on packing their churches.
Exactly!! And it already has mutated a bunch apparently. There are tons of strains and I heard there is one that causes more deaths and a less severe one. But it could mutate even further.

And yeah, I personally would rather be over prepared than underprepared!! Even if the mask thing is over kill or spreading panic or whatever and it can’t live in the air, who cares!? It doesn’t take that much effort to just wear a mask and I’d rather do that than risk it. Especially since it DOES survive in the air, even briefly.

But that said, we also have much better sanitation practices now for the most part than they did back then. They didn’t even used to take bathes and had sewage and garbage in the streets, etc. so I’m sure that also contributed. We now bathe and wash our hands regularly at least one hopes lol and have sewers and other sanitation practices now.

That goes a long way.

But it really was terribly sad how many people died in those things. :(

But also kind of fascinating. I love history. Wonder if there’s documentaries or anything about any of those things?

Limburger is very good. But you don't smell it when you eat it. It's a very buttery flavor. If you're looking to try it you may want to start with Camembert . Maybe baked.

I can never find it in stores. I have asked before and was laughed at. I gave up on the limburger but if camembert is easier to find, I will try it. I love odd cheeses.

There's this news thing that says don't go to the beach because the virus can go in the water and then if a wave bursts spray on you you can get it.

IMO that's reaching. Either the salt water would kill it or it would be so dilute that not enough would get to you. If there's any medical people here , care to comment?
