Well they didn’t used to be, people would just throw any old saddle on any old horse and then blame the horse for poor behaviour. That’s like saying pants are pants, one pair fits all people!
Truthfully I was very excited when a friend sold me a few saddles when I got my horses, they’re beautiful and the two higher end ones decorate my house currently cause they’re too pretty to lock up in a barn lol!
And there they may stay because of the fit, for me and for my horses. And truly I’m ok with that, cause if I’m going out for a ride my old English feels great or I just go bareback, easy on a fjord since they’re as wide as a sofa lol!

In other news I’m taking out the egg turner and going into lockdown today with my first ever batch of incubated eggs! Pretty sure they’re all alive and so excited to meet the babies!!!!
People actually did that!? then were probably surprised if they bucked or whatever cause it didn’t fit and hurt :th

It’s good they have so many now but also kinda bad for indecisive people like me. :lau

I always thought it was just English and western 😂🙈

And how exciting!!!! Congrats!!! I just hatched my first batch in November and it is so much fun!!! :D

There are dressage saddles with very deep seats (confining?!) and saddles that are not so all embracing. I prefer the latter types myself.
My first riding lessons (junior high age!) were saddle seat, but much later found dressage, much better. Try it!
At least in those olden times, saddle seat training and riding made the horse 'disconnected' front to rear, the opposite of what's wanted in dressage.
Probably not the conversation for this thread though.
Now my horses are 'pasture pets'!

Thanks!! I’ll have to try that. I started doing just Western cause I didn’t think I wanted to post or didn’t really know much better or whatever but then after a while she suggested I try English so I agreed cause why not? And I actually really liked it! Sure, the posting was a lot of work especially since I’m out of shape (even more so now) but it was fun. :D

And also she said and I agree that it’s actually technically more comfortable on the trails than western cause at least you can post the bumps instead of just getting bounced around in the saddle 😂😂

We should get the horse thread(s) going again!! Haha

Thought you cancelled the order
No I didn’t. I was going to but then I kept putting it off until there was like less than a week left and I decided that was kinda rude to cancel that close to it if they would even allow it plus I decided I didn’t really want to cancel it anyway so I just kept it. 😂🙈

So how many you got coming, @KDOGG331 ?

I may also have to go this route. ^^^
My incubator never showed up via Amazon, so I have filed the complaint thing and will see how that goes. In the mean time my idea of hatching out what I can and being more self sustainable may have to wait until I have a broody mom.
Figures.... first time I actually want to keep a roo (who is still behaving BTW) for breeding I don't have a setting hen to do anything with. Fat chance I'll find a decent priced incubator online now too.

......wondering if I should entertain ordering some roos.

(OMG, I cannot believe it's gotten to the point that I would actually order one roo much less a box full of them :th)
Roos need love too!

Roos need love too!
Yes, I suppose they do....**said begrudgingly...**

How about I send you my young roos since you seem to be the roo wisperer. Teach them to be respectful of the goddess who brings the food and they might be able to keep themselves alive here.

The current roo gets to stay...until he looks at me cross eyed once.
And only once.

Mine run away from me 😂 I like it that way though. I’ve never been mean to them or anything like that, just never handled them much.

How do you know since they are not there yet? Where did you order from?
More important...what are they?
Because the receipt says 8 haha I must have changed it and ordered one less than I thought I did.

I ordered them from Ideal back in like January 😂🙈

So I might have forgotten LOL

And they are 4 female Brabanters (2 cream and 2 gold) and 4 straight run bantam Birchen Cochins.
