I loved my Muscovy drake, who would look at me like a dog when I talked to him, but didn't actually listen or do what I said. And I loved my BR tom turkey.I love roosters and owning them. I think it's because I like hatching my own chicks. I also have a drake... He's a pain. He is a raging hormonal weirdohe listens like a dog though so he's not too bad.
However they did not love each other.
I'd get the biggest laugh from watching as the tom would chase the drake into the coop, then I'd hear tussling from inside, then abut 5 seconds later the tom would shoot out the door with the drake's bill firmly attached to his tail feathers and off they'd go. Tom lumbering around the pasture dragging the drake behind until the drake lost his grip. Lather, rise, repeat.
The Kaki Campbell drakes never got off my sh*t list, thus earning their spot on another farm, but I loved my Muscovy drake and females. I'd like to have some again but am afraid a fox would get them or they'd swim down creek and be gone.
