"I just heard that travel to the US from Europe has been suspended except from Great Britain. This also includes all trade.
What have you experienced, and are you experiencing shortages in your area? Have you been sick, or do you have friends or family that are?
Italy has closed commerce except for pharmacies and food stores."

Yesterday the Governor of my state pleaded with people to get their news regarding the Covid-19 Pandemic from legitimate news sources and NOT the internet/ social media sites. Most of you are doing well sticking to the original intent of the original post, however, when you start putting out your version of "factual" information you are only adding to the panic. A few of us have made mention of it, but it just doesn't sink in to some of your brains. Please, if you want to start a "I'm freaking out, so I need to sound authoritative and wicked smart to myself at least" thread, do that instead of hijacking yet another thread that was meant to allow people to share their experiences and comfort/encourage others who need support at this time. If this offends anyone, I'm sorry. But if you have so much energy to spare, have you thought of ways that you could pitch in during this crisis? Just a thought. Have a nice day and stay healthy everyone. :frow

I'm wondering if my kids will actually go back to school or if they'll start again in September.

I told my beagle last night that she's lucky because she doesn't have to worry about all this. She has toys, food, water, and a warm bed... Not a care in the world. And us humans can't even find TP or groceries at the store 😑 Some can't even find enough food to make meals for their families.

For those that can afford it, consider contributing to local food banks, shelters, etc.

I've been donating eggs for free to people in need of them due to shortages.

Usually our stores start these boxes for Easter that are a complete meal for a family of 4 so I'll buy a few of them for those in need.

I haven't been going anywhere I'm actually not allowed to at all. My Drs have told me they'll find me if I leave because im severely high risk. I have texts all day every day asking my location. I feel like I'm a teen again...

How's things in Mass? My brother lives near Boston. I text him yesterday and he said so far he's good. There was someone who tested positive at his work and was in a meeting the day before he tested... My brother thankfully skipped that meeting!
For such a small state/ Commonwealth we have over 200 cases of the virus. That’s pretty high if you look at it per capita. Our terrific Governor has been very proactive (that’s how he normally operates). The Senior Centers closed last week before Trump had his first press conference. People here are still panic buying however they are working to curb that. I haven’t been off my property since last Wednesday afternoon but looking at the local news, most people are starting to take this seriously. I’m high risk because of my age and pre existing medical conditions like a number of our members, but I’m fine. I hope the few who continue to break the “social distancing” thing don’t get seriously ill. Take care and thank you for asking.

You're right. I don't get why people choose panic over faith and hope, especially when shown reasons not to panic.

I don't think anyone on here is panicking. I see people reacting with a decent amount of caution and being diligent in their actions.
Frankly many come here to get away from the news/reports of this world wide issue, politics and misinformation that is so prevalent right now.

Maybe we should all go read Cappy's second post asking we keep politics out of this thread.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.
