NYC seems to be the worst of the worst, God help them.
Saw Cuomo on Fox this morning. He has asked the FDA to approve serological testing for coronavirus antibodies immediately, find out what people had coronovirus already and resolved so they can go back to work, could dramatically reduce medical staff shortage. He also did away with regulations on bed capacity in hospitals, wants 100% increase in bed capacity and not asking, those who can't reach 100% 50% is mandatory, there will be no bed shortage. There was a bunch of other stuff he's requiring I don't remember it all.
I'm still hopeful the 10,000 doses of hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin he ordered will be a game changer :fl

I hear ya, CapricornFarm! We've taken a bath too and I'm retired and my husband will be in 2 years so we won't have time to recover. Our one silver lining is that our broker suggested moving some of it into bonds about a year ago. That, at least, has been safe.

Mostly, I reason that whatever we're going through -- both now and in the future -- we'll go through with everyone else. So things may be harder. They may be new. But there will be solutions because the need will be that great.
Or maybe I will get the virus and drop dead so I won't need a retirement fund. Bonus, I wouldn't have to worry about developing Alzheimer's.
I asked hubby how long it would take with the government passing out $1000 a month to recover all we lost. He couldn't even figure it out in his head, and he used to be a banker!
