For those who may be interested, this is an old wartime poster of victory gardens layouts. Might come in handy for your pandemic security garden planning. :)

Nice chart... now I'm wondering how many people in the US actually eat endives, rutabaga, turnips...

I grew a bunch of turnips last year (they grow big quite fast) and everyone I mentioned it to went "Well, but what do you do with those?"

You... eat them? :p

What are their recommendations for keeping critters out of it? The local wild things usually get 85% of what I grow.

My kiddo knows what bok choy is because we used to grow them.
No one, and I mean no one, at kiddo's school had any idea...

I have to wonder how many people these days know what endive is.

I sure know what it is, but I can't tell you the last time I ate one. Probably in a winter Caesar salad back in 2018?

I'm also THAT person at the grocery store slowing down the line because cashiers don't know what fennel, shallots, radicchio, etc. are. I spent over 10 minutes once trying to buy radicchio because even though the store had it in stock (I mean, it was sitting there in my basket), there was no item code to ring it up, even in the cashier's book.

I swear if I get this blinking virus and am nearing dying I WILL have a bunch of oreos, milk and even cheetos! Diabetes be damned!
Um, yeah but if you are on a ventilator...you can't eat. Better be safe and eat them now just in case.

I'm in a bit of shock because New Zealand has now jumped to 102 confirmed cases of Covid-19. 😭 Experts have been pleading with the government (even started a petition that currently has over 30,000 signatures) to shut everything but essential services down so that we could get on top of it before it really started to take off and overwhelm our health system, but the government doesn't want to panic anyone. We're getting an announcement soon about what their plan is.

My Nan is about to have her 90th birthday around Easter. She's just survived thyroid cancer and recently had a pacemaker fitted, so I have to say I'm very worried about her.

I saw a video of a bra that was cut in half...2 separate cups... and the straps used for the elastic around the ears or head. Nifty idea for a quick mask.
....if one doesn't mind being called Boob-face. :gig

( I have them so, yes, I'm allowed to say boob-face)

Well, assuming a single cup doesn't cover your whole face!
