I am trying to and I loved them all for a long time, especially because I hatched them myself in November (first hatch ever, ended up with only 1 girl lol), but they are really trying my patience now!! I hatched 9 but have since lost 2 so I now have 6 boys and 1 girl. 16 1/2 weeks old.

First of all, they’ve been crowing their little heads off the last couple weeks, especially one. But that’s not so bad. I can deal with that. I expected that.

What I did NOT expect was them ganging up on one of my older hens, chasing her around the yard, pinning her down, and them all pecking at her!! Even when I chased them off they did it again!

To me, it didn’t look like they were trying to mate with her, it looked like they were trying to kill her or something and it was horrific!!

I have a few that I love and am hoping to keep but the rest need to GO! Or at least not be let out with my girls anymore. They sleep in separate coops but have been letting them free range. Never had any problems until today. They mostly stick to themselves. Now they are ganging up on my almost 5 year old EE hen!

And I know this is probably just normal rooster behavior and I should have known it would come sooner or later but they’ve been perfect little angels and stayed completely separate for so long. I’m thinking it’s only one or two trouble makers instigating though. There is one that’s much more grown up than the rest.

You're right about the actor. Although, Kendra's not back to look at either. I especially like his voice. I was sorry to see he will not be making any more shows. I, also, watch Criminal Minds, Blue Bloods, Chicago PD, NCIS, NCIS New Orleans, NCIS LA, Bull, 60 days in, and Live PD, etc.

You know it's the container, not the soap, right? Just save your foamy containers and refill them with whatever soap you want... I use diluted Dr Bronners mixed with a little lavender oil. It foams just fine.

YES! I found out it was a little liquid soap diluted with lots of water, that's when I realized how foolish I was!

I love NCIS and Criminal Minds!! Don’t really like the LA version though but love the original and New Orleans lol my mom loves Bull, Blue Bloods, and Chicago PD, but those ones aren't really my cup of tea lol I watch the other two occasionally. Not big on reality tv stuff lol I like Hawaii Five 0 and Magnum PI too.

They are disposable, so really not as sustainable as a cloth dust mop that can be washed and reused.

Be strong, WeeFarmerSarah. It won't go on forever though some of us -- I must be about the same age -- won't have the time to recover retirement income that younger people will.

What consoles me is that we're all in this together -- the country and the world -- things will have to change after this pandemic is over just to keep things functional. Meanwhile, we have our chickens and a steady supply of eggs. We're more fortunate than many.

If you have bleach 1 tablespoon in a quart of water is antiviral. For cleaning greasy things vinegar will do the job. Maybe we won't return to buying expensive cleaners that don't do better than the old fashioned things our grandmothers used.

I happen to own several very old farming, housekeeping and homesteading books (a couple are mid 1800's) and one especially that has 10,000 Receipts (the pre 1900 term for recipes) and covers how to make just about anything for home and farm. I love the old books and figured they might even come in handy some day (have to be careful about some of the medical "cures" tho)
