I happen to own several very old farming, housekeeping and homesteading books (a couple are mid 1800's) and one especially that has 10,000 Receipts (the pre 1900 term for recipes) and covers how to make just about anything for home and farm. I love the old books and figured they might even come in handy some day (have to be careful about some of the medical "cures" tho)

Would you mind snapping and posting a few useful selections for us, pretty please?
Guaranteed none of them still have copy rights on them!

Yeah, I have 6. I thought I had more time because they’ve stayed completely separate from each other until today. Need to make a bachelor pen I’m thinking. They’re too young to eat I think.

I have been accused of being a food hoarder before.....

I think of it as being frugal. I shop sales especially if I have coupons.

Several weeks ago (like 5 or so) I found oatmeal on sale...and I had coupons! I bought 4 canisters. We use a fair amount of oatmeal here. When I got home I hear... "That is A LOT of oatmeal!". Now it doesn't seem so odd to have 4 canisters of oats.
I have been known to buy large packs of cleaning supplies as well. Not extreme like 20 jugs of toilet cleaner. I do get the twin pack of jumbo bottles of pine sol at Costco.

I am betting hubs is a bit more grateful of my efforts to keep a well stocked household now.

Makes sense but was horrific to see. With her laying there and them standing over/around her pecking at her and not letting her up. I swear they were trying to kill her but maybe they were trying to mate? No mounting going on yet though. Just pecking. But I did later see the EE run after a girl that sang the egg song then he got scared and ran away. But seemed like he wanted to mate/knew the egg song meant something but didn’t know what to do yet so maybe that is what happened with the other girl too? But she wasn’t singing I don’t think. They just chose her, possibly because she was the only one around, and chased her down. They are getting on my last nerves. I might end up just keeping the Lavender Orpington.

@Wee Farmer Sarah I meant to ask before but forgot but what was the grocery chain you mentioned that you liked? I don’t believe you said the name of it but I don’t think there are many here haha it sounded like a good one. Was it Stop & Shop? Market Basket?

Market Basket of course. They have their own warehouses and distributors. Don’t waste your time with Stop and Shop or Hannafords. A total waste. And no customer service.

Either separate them, or at least separate the ones you don't plan on keeping. Try one or two of your favorites with the flock, or only one, and see how it goes. If they weigh enough, it's freezer time!
