What's significant is not the total numbers of deaths, but the percentages - the number of deaths per thousands infected. I am not able to provide a link, but I read recently that the death RATE for H1N1 in 2009 was .02%. For Covid-19 it is 2%. That means that 2 out of 1000 sick people died with H1N1, but 20 people out of 1000 die with Covid-19. So Covid is 100 times more deadly than the flu.

Somebody said that to me the other day, that the H1N1 flu was more deadly than Covid-19, which is why I looked it up, and it does not appear to be true; and she also said it's nothing but a bunch of media hype and scare tactics. The President is not the media. The CDC is not the media. The media is reporting what the president and the CDC are saying. I've said it before and I'll say it again: that's not hype, it's journalism. I wonder who is pushing tthis "it's nothing to worry about"agenda while our health care workers are dropping like flies and our hospitals are being overrun with the sick? Who benefits by having our hospitals swamped right no

Who benefits? Maybe the hospitals themselves who are getting 150 billion dollar pay off while charging sick customers up the wazoo? You can bet it's not the nurses or techs on the front line benefiting.

We got it sorted out! We had to spend a while getting everyones tech to work. One of our members was running from a hotspot so couldn't use Roll20s camera/voice chat as it was too intensive, but somehow we got discord voice chat to work and the Roll20 map to work so we were able to run it with almost everyone fully connected. We have 3 people in our household, the GM and two players, so figuring out a universal mic for us all with no reverb was a pain. People were really excited by how interactive Roll20 was and everyone sent me character pictures for it for their tokens. Some of them drew their own pictures.


(There's, uh, some drawing experience diversity in our group. XD)

Roll 20 was finicky. The character sheet options were limiting, but we managed to make them work without having to pick a cluttered one. I didn't like how every individual stroke I drew was its own object. We had a really good time running everyone through a scary dank cave filled with fish people who kidnapped them as slaves. They killed the evil fish people and their pet baby black dragon and escaped with only one character seriously injured in the fight. In the end, they were outnumbered by the guards outside the cave but a whole boat full of friendly lizardfolk swept in to save the day! With their own boat scuttled, they agreed to hitch a ride to the nearest port town to be dropped off.

Since we don't have anything going on anymore ever we're gonna be running again next Saturday. It was super nice to get to hear my friends voices and laugh and see their faces. It wasn't quite as good as all being in the same room but it's the closest we've all had in a while and it was super great. Everyone agreed it was a good time and relieving to see pals we missed, even through a screen.

I'm super glad we're still doing DnD. I think I'd be going way more crazy without it! It is a really good way to interact even over long distances and it's great for coping. I'm so glad there's tech we can all use to make playing over long distances easier these days.

Its the other way around. Covid19 has a much higher mortality than any of the influenza’s we had for the last decades. If you compare it within groups where it spreads without restrictions. This is only hypothetical until now. But the estimated figures are frightening if the governments /people do nothing. Thats why we need to avoid contact with other people.

Covid19 spreads much quicker than flu. Children are rarely effected seriously. But it causes much more severe problems and death, especially those who are above 70 or have underlying health problems. And its adds to the mortality caused by the flu.
Look into WHO reports.

Parties and other gatherings are an excellent way to spread the virus much quicker.
Better not visit you’re neighbours and keep them away from you're house. Chances they get the C-virus are increasing day by they with such behaviour. It takes almost a week before the infected show symptoms. And they can pass the virus without having any symptoms.

In my country we have a few small religious villages with high contamination rates and many severe sick and worse, because the people went to church and gather a lot. There were little restrictions until a week or 2 ago. And they didn’t know there was someone in their community who was infected. This way the virus spread unnoticed. And extremely fast.

I'm over it. The fact is the state of AZ said not to take any precautions other than social distancing like everyone else unless we show symptoms. That's how we're handling it.

I don't have an "it's nothing to worry about agenda." This isn't going to kill everyone on the planet. The fact remains that not everyone who is exposed will get it bad enough to even seek medical attention let alone die.

We have no symptoms and as I said, we were told no additional precautions are necessary unless we actually get sick. Makes sense to me. If it doesn't to you,

Looking at the numbers that have been published, by the esteemed journalists, the numbers don't cause me a lot of concern. It's a new thing, it's going to run rampant for a bit, eventually we'll kill it or we'll get used to each other. Like the seasonal flu.

For me...older with underlying conditions....I will take extra precautions to protect myself. I am not being a panicked idiot about it but I am certainly being more aware of where I go, what I do, and what I touch. I question...do I REALLY need to go there and do that much more than before.
Do I expect to be exposed....yes...I just hope it is long after the initial phase so the professionals have had time to figure out best course of action or even a vaccine.

I will not presume to tell others how to live...it is not my place to do so.

Exactly! We are older with underlying conditions. Ok hubs is older We aren't making any unnecessary trips to the store, no fast food, and not congregating with other people. All we're doing is walking our dogs and chores around the house. Normal stuff. We don't want it but if we got it, we'd stay home.
