LOL, Hi Mary! I told him that!!!
I am Mary too. No cockerels! These are both girls---Elizabeth and Poppy. Our first time with Speckled Sussex. We have 6 Buff Orpington ladies. These 'Littles' are so adorable. I know we will love the SS.
I was kind of hoping someone might see this on our website and want to order a fort, lol!!!

I love my SS!

Yep. I checked. >_> D is up late working on his engineering senior design project at the dining room table and I'm too tired to do work so I got nothing else going on so I looked it up by searching this thread for Ostara in posts made by me.
Oh wow I can’t believe it was that long ago already!!!

You surely are right there. The things I have learned with severe depression (managed with pills) for 16 years - when you feel overwhelmed to anything, commit yourself to do one project a day. I always started with laundry. Do not be afraid to get medication to help. Life is too short to stay depressed In any way. I always think of that commercial where the dog drops his ball cause you're not playing, or the girl who approaches her mom then turns away.
Do whatever you can to not be depressed. Start small like one chore a day. And try to do all the other stuff in this article quoted.
Agreed and thank you @ChocolateMouse for sharing it.

And yes, sometimes I have to force myself to do things if I’m really dragging and then I usually feel better. Although that said, oddly, I’ve been way better lately despite everything. My animals really help. Especially my little budgies cause I talk and sing to them all day :love

And the chickens too because I just love the cockerel I’m keeping :love

But even so, yesterday, I mostly moped around and barely even drank any water all day and felt awful as a result. So today I made it a point to force myself up early and showered, got dressed, made myself breakfast, already been outside and walked around the yard (it’s huge) numerous times, etc. and my brother came over briefly earlier, etc. and I already feel so much better having actually done something and gotten fresh air, being dressed instead of just doing everything in PJs.

I did a shopping jaunt this morning.

We're seniors so I had my husband wake me up much earlier than we've been getting up since we've become homebound.

I got to Costco in time for their very early Senior Hour. There was already a long line but everyone was keeping their space and their calm. People were pretty much in gloves and masks. Me too. I got everything I went for including -- finally!!! -- some TP and disinfectant wipes. I got some Mucinex which I take daily because I'm asthmatic and my lungs produce a lot of sludge. They would only let me get one package. That was a bummer so I'm going to have to go back and get some more.

On my way home I stopped at Trader Joe's and they were still holding their Senior Hour so I got in line there too. I got what I remembered to get but I completely forgot about fresh produce. What a dummkopf! So I'm going to have to go back for those too.

When I was leaving there was a long line of "juniors" queuing up for the regular opening. Since they only let a minimal number of people in at a time I would imagine it's going to take a good bit of the day to work through the lines!

Everything in both stores was pleasant. The grimness of last week seems to have passed. There are new procedures and the care to keep things disinfected is clear and reassuring. Interestingly, not too many of the store employees at either store were wearing gloves or masks. I guess they're happy with their level of sanitation but, as I said, it was clear how seriously they were taking it.

PS Everything that doesn't have to be frozen or refrigerated will live out in my garage for several days before we load it into the house.

KDOGG331 my raspberry bare roots from parks say they were delivered. So I am without bare root raspberries. Does your offer still stand? :fl
I already forgot which offer  based on context though, I’m guessing I suggested digging some up :lau I could try to find some. :D idk if we even have any up yet :hit

Killing anything in/because of anger is never a good choice; although lately I have considered doing that.

:hmm

Yeah, I probably would have regretted it. Although I couldn’t have kept all those boys anyway so they would have either had to be butchered or find homes anyway . Thankfully, they found homes. Though I’m sure the home butchered them :lau

I changed the title of this thread to truly reflect the state of it now that you guys have been yammering on about other stuff. Carry on chatting about the virus and or what you are doing to cope on a daily basis. If any of you do get way off topic here in the future, feel free to start another type chatting thread.

Enjoy!

I had my telephone doctor phone call and let me tell you it is quite awkward... Even my doctor thought it was awkward 😂

I got all of my medications renewed and I got a heads up on the doctor I will be having a phone appointment with on Friday. Basically he is the head of endocrinology so I'm kind of excited for Friday to pick his brain.

My doctor told me to prepare to be locked down until June 10th because that is when Virginia was going to lift their lockdown. I told him that I am not hopeful about it being lifted then because I believe this virus will be here for quite some time.

I let him know about me going to clean vegan eating and he was quite shocked because he said he didn't think there was any way to eat any healthier than I do 😂
