So, this quote;
"6 deaths, nearly 600 cases" in CHINA. Even at 800 deaths it still wasn't named. So that was when, like, January? Had to be before the 22nd. The virus wasn't named til late february. It literally did not have a name, only a place of origin. EVery one of these quotes is either contextless or distinctly before a name was released.

This is why checking your sources matters. THIS is EXACTLY what propaganda looks like. Equating official reporting of location and virus type before there's a name with calling it the "Wu-flu" or "chinese virus" is awful. It's a false equivalency.

It's like saying "Women who are on state welfare" vs "Welfare Queens". There's a BIG difference between the two. Context matters SO SO SO much!

You're 100% allowed to say "The coronoa virus that originated in wuhan". *Especially* while it's still only in wuhan. The moment the game changes and it's world wide, associating it only with chinese people does WAY more harm than good.
Here's 1 back in January,

but we've had the
Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) and SARS as well. To me these referrals to these disease origins don't seem racist, but we're all entitled to an opinion. I prefer press conferences, less potential for any media outlet to twist or attempt to twist any news or comment. I like first hand reports, much more reliable. Watch & listen to everything and then form your own conclusions. Media is most definitely biased. I just wish the Chinese officials had been more forthcoming with their status earlier and would reveal the truth of their cases & fatalities.

Yep. Can you answer to me; what was the virus named in January? And what regions were effected by it to what amount? :):):)

Check your sources. Understand the issue. You'll get MUCH closer to the solution.

I'm no math expert, but something doesn't add up here...

Well main reason he didn't want me in them was the guys get pretty handsy with women, which makes sense, but... I still wanted to try. :p

He said even with the bruises, he was having a great time. Well, not being slammed into, but he said crowd surfing was an amazing feeling.
That makes sense!! Though thankfully I haven’t really seen that at the shows I’ve been at. Though you do sometimes get guys trying to “save” or “protect” the tiny girls and/or pull them out of pits haha

I’ve only crowd surfed once at Warped Tour in 2012, my first time there, but I’ve always wanted to do it again, or at least a few times since, but now I’m much more chicken and easily embarrassed hahah

It has had several names, depending on who was speaking.... 2019-nCoV... Wuhan Coronavirus... SARS-CoV-2... 2019 novel coronavirus... and then officially Covid-19... I'm sure there are more that I haven't seen.
It had spread to other countries, but the cases were connected to people from Wuhan or that had traveled there at that point. Pandemic in the making.... only thing that really matters now is how do we save lives & protect those that we love?

Or it could mean she sees the absurdity of the policy of excluding people from donating blood when the country really needs it because of outdated and bigoted policies. The blood supply ois safe and it has nothing to do with excluding gay people it has to do with the fact that all the blood is screened.
Exactly!!! I hardly see it as trolling. Just expressing their feelings on it/sharing information as well as the absurdity of it. And it’s also relevant because they had mentioned the restriction previously so were just providing an update. I guarantee if it had been about some new restriction straight people face, no one would have batted an eye

420,000 American soldiers died in WWII.
Many millions from other countries.
420,000 is a lot of American kids
Yes it is and it was serious and scary on all sides. I wasn’t trying to downplay it all or anything. Just meant that the actual fighting did not take place here so it was probably less scary for some people than people living where the fighting was taking place.

Someone had said that their grandparents came here to flee the Nazis so for them that was way scarier than the virus so I was just responding to that/trying not to downplay anything.

My original post and point was just that my Nana thinks that this is scarier than the war and that that, to me, shows just how scary this thing is. That’s it. Was not trying to downplay anyone’s experience or the war or anything like that.

Of course the war was terrifying and horrific and awful for many people. For some it wasn’t or didn’t directly affect them. Perspective is everything.

I don’t even agree with my nana, personally I feel like the war had to have been way worse.

But I just wanted to share what she thought and her perspective on it. Didn’t realize it would be taken so many different ways. She’s 84 now. Of course it’s scary to her.

Heard it can take a couple weeks before symptoms show, if they show

In the majority of cases it takes 5.1 days for symptoms to appear.

People fail to understand that it is spread by apparently healthy people. I cannot get it through people's thick skulls that it is apparently healthy people who are viral shedding from their upper respiratory tract prior to the onset of symptoms who spread the virus. Once you have symptoms like a fever at 5.1 days after contact with a healthy looking person who had the virus, you then become rapidly non-contagious. People who tell you they had the virus a few days ago are not at all contagious compared to people who tell you they haven't got it yet. It is impossible to tell people this and get them to listen in a way that alters their behavior.

btw i am not having a go at you, it is people in general who are spreading the virus because their brains are out to lunch I'm angry at.
