There's some indication that the NJ curve may be flattening too. Let's all hope so!

While the data doesn’t suggest New Jersey is anywhere close to being out of the woods — far from it — the speed with which new deaths are announced is starting to slow, suggesting Gov. Phil Murphy’s “stay-at-home” order is having its intended effect.

I have to admit, this one has me very concerned. I've been watching the numbers. Comparing the stats to flu/influenza make it even more disconcerting. The severity doesn't seem comparable to the flu/influenza either. Those being hospitalized, which is a very high percentage, compared to flu/influenza, are not being admitted for supportive care, but are needing to be put into I.C.U. The numbers are bleak for older folks, which I am one, and for those that are immunocompromised, which I am as well. It's barely started here, but following how rapidly it's spreading in other countries, once it gets a foothold, I suspect that is going to change in the very near future.
In your case the best advice I can give you it`s to stay home, isolate yourself from the rest of your family but by saying isolate I don´t mean to stop having contact with your family.FAMILY AND COMMUNITY SUPPORTS ARE VERY IMPORTANT.Here in Portugal we learned the worst way with the terrible examples of Italian and Spanish people,it`s not only old people who die,all ages are affected but elderly people are more affected for all the reasons.

Welcome, Assuncao CostaPinto!

I believe we now have members to this thread in Spain, Portugal, New Zealand, Russia, India, the Netherlands and....

It's wonderful to get all of these perspectives and see the world become a community in these difficult times.

Do you have a theory why Spain seems to be hit so much harder than Portugal?

Look, you can't get any face masks these days. Walmart can't help with that. I like shopping at Walmart, the people are very nice, Walmart is a great place. No one can get face masks, I'm just trying to help, and don't appreciate your comment.
Hey I worked for Wal-Mart after I retired. I can tell you they treat their good employees very well! You do right by them, they do well by you! As for the pay, it was way more than I was expecting for a job like that. This was prior to covid 19, but even then a cashier could wear gloves and masks if they wanted. Doubt they changed that policy after covid 19! Love the new Plexiglas shields they've put up for their employees.
