I did see that on the news.
I just think there needs to be research before millions of people start offing Fido and miss kitty.

My hubby, told me about that the other day, I told him it's a good thing she doesn't go shopping or outside then.

I know!! My dogs are on lockdown too....no walkies. Kitty.....well she is very old and NEVER goes outside but if she did...mask would be required!

We got our new water heater late yesterday afternoon, so we will be putting it in today, but not before I sanitize it. Then I think I'll start getting my garden area ready for planting in a few more weeks.

Mine aren't in lockdown. We have plenty of land for ours to run on.

I hate to change the subject but I moved here a year ago and my property is clay. It's awful. So we built some raised boxes to grow stuff. Then I ordered 3 yards of "garden mix" dirt which is supposed to be 60% soil (not clay), 20% sand, and 20% compost.

I go out today and the box I planted had a thick layer of crust on top. I water and the water takes forever to drain. And if I plant seeds they will never be able to push thru this crust. They also said it would be screened and OMG! there's a lot of sticks and stuff in it. I can't see any sand or compost. But the worst is I will not be able to plant seeds in there and expect them to break thru the crust. I just want to cry. Does this sound like garden mix?

Yes. The screener can only remove so much - we have one so I see all the pieces that CAN make it through and it’s more than I’d like, too. After the winter the soil settles and the finer particles rise to the top, your silts and your clays etc. A good forking will mix it all back in, if it’s too heavy mix in a bale (one of those big cubes) of peat moss, and you can’t go wrong with a couple 50lb bags of sharp sand too. Stay away from manures for now, that black soil has plenty of nutrients in it already you just need to get some better drainage

My yard and dog run are decent sized. We play a lot of ball and tag of sorts....mostly I am "it" though.

Happily, my grandson is 9 and past the Easter Bunny thing at this point so he won't miss it.

I hope your quiet family Easter is pleasant, tho, and I hope you can FaceTime (or whatever) with your extended family so it seems like a celebration.

BREAKING NEWS! Governor Hogan (Maryland) has officially declared the Easter Bunny to be "Essential Personnel." If spotted, s/he will be allowed to make the usual rounds, undisturbed by the authorities. They're pretty sure they'll recognize EB, even when s/he is wearing a mask!
