Okay, I’m gonna go check on the body since I can’t go back to sleep but I just wanted to say that I finally listened to the voicemail (yes I hadn’t listened to it yet  ) and she said that they don’t do necropsies for what they suspect might be Mareks disease but she said I could contact either the University of New Hampshire or the University of Connecticut, she said they both have diagnostic labs, and that I could also still call her back. She also said it’d be about $100  :th oh and apparently the message didn’t come through and she did try to call yesterday but the office gave her the wrong number so she left a message on the wrong number I guess. Anyway, I hope to God the body is still okay because if it’s not, I’ll be throwing $100 away.

I think that @casportpony may have a list of labs. I think

Good to see you, @TwoShepherds . So what is the story on behavioral health? Is it shut down for now? I have a very close young relative that probably needs 72 hours in a safe place if you know what I mean. She's not a user, just a young abuse victim that really needs a time out. I am afraid for her ...
We are open and accepting patients as usual, though we’re screening admits (and employees before shifts) to the best of our abilities. So far we’ve been fortunate, no positive cases. I don’t really see how we could close the hospital, so many people in need...but I worry a lot about what would happen in case of an outbreak as much of our therapy is group based. I hope your relative reaches out for help and is safe.

Yeah I know but I’m really worried the bodies too old or hasn’t been kept cold enough now.

I was going to treat him as if he was positive.

I've done this about 10 times. I keep the body wrapped in kitchen garbage bags in the fridge until I send it. One time it was a week. Then I pack it in a Styrofoam cooler with as many ice packs as I have, put the form in a plastic bag in the box. And ship. I do tape the Styrofoam cooler shut. And into a box.

Okay thank you!!! Good to know. He was in the garage with some ice but not much but it’s been below freezing the past two nights and his body was still fairly cold and he doesn’t smell so I think he will be okay. :fl need to go get some foam or styrofoam or something.

Thanks. I am hoping it's the same here. I am gently encouraging her to call her therapist. I remember how resistant I was to taking that step for the first time, and then being so glad and grateful I did and finding a safe place when I really needed it. Behavioral health care professionals are just as vital, and just as much life-saving heroes, as anyone else on the front lines. They saved my life, and I will testify! 😆
