Ya I looked into both and decided definitely a husky over malamute.
I liked the huskies smaller size for sure and heard huskies prefered to be with other dogs and malamutes preferred to not be.
Malamutes were said to bond with people better but I need dogs that get along.
Also heard malamutes could be harder to deal with so wasn't too interested in that either.
Also heard huskies had crazy high prey drive and loved to run smaller creatures down.
Not good in the least with poultry, pigs, cats etc. So we'll see how that goes. Figuring it won't be good but if we can succeed then that would be huge.

Malamutes are definitely harder to handle than huskies. Much much harder.

They certainy aren't our first go with big dogs or stubborn dogs or jerk dogs lol!
They do well enough here I think largely because we are experienced that way.

Husky prey drive.....:hmm
Keep them well exercised every day. A tired dog is a good dog. It takes a lot to tire out a husky.
Super consistent training will help a lot. Everyone needs to use the same commands and set the same rules. None of that letting them get away with it "this time". It sets a bad precedence.

You'll do great!

They are RIDICULOUS!
Our first male made just one noise for the vet visits..... "GRRRRRRRR!"
This female is shy and twitchy and yes scared of her shadow literally.
It actually makes her more dangerous......that whole cornered dog fight or flight thing.
I can do pretty much whatever with her and my son can do whatever with her but others should not attempt.
Sounds like my red nose pit mix. She is not very good with strangers or when they get too close to me.

So this might be a bit tin foil hat like, but, if you wanted to get a lot (potentially everyone's) DNA, how would you do it? What if you wanted to start cataloging the population? It could be put to "good" use! This information would be priceless. We already know ancestry websites sell your DNA (been documented), you think the gov't won't? :D :D :D :D

You know people, especially in the USA, would never ever submit their DNA if you ask for it. You make it their idea, you must make them "want" to give you their DNA. And what is the best tool to herd flocks?

Conditioning and fear.

They are offering free testing here now, no appointment needed. Come one, come all! Let us "test" you (and take your DNA and do with it what they please).
I thought that too.
Just one of the many things they are doing right now to control us.
Good bye democracy, hello technocracy.

So providing covid testing is the government's way of controlling us?
Testing in my area is very limited and hard to get done. Wish the government would be a bit more controlling then I guess.
I think this lock down has too many people spending too much alone. Are people sitting around just looking for stuff to be paranoid about?

You guys crack me up. :lau

Regarding Boondock CIA..... that actually sounds like a good premise for a movie. Can we make that a movie!? 😂🤣

Yard sales, my mom doesn’t really go to very many anymore but she loves to go to the dump (they have a section where you can take stuff/browse and a book shed lol) and thrift stores especially Savers. :lau

Thank goodness they’re closed atm lol

Re: huskies... I love huskies. :love

Love all dogs but huskies are so cute haha and such goofs. And they seem a lot more social and friendly than Mals. And definitely a “pack oriented” dog. They love having other huskies haha other dogs too but just something special about two or more huskies together.

Right!? This is ridiculous lol the testing is voluntary. No one is forcing anyone to get tested 😂🤣

And in fact, I know plenty of people who wanted to get tested but couldn’t even though they had a bunch or all of the symptoms.

Fail to see how that’s controlling when it’s literally voluntary and even people who want to get tested can’t.

Awwww! Pits are my chosen breed. Mine have all loved all the other critters....humans....yeah they could do without strangers.
My current pit is a pit husky mix. Yes she chases the cat....more often than I would like.
She is my awesome ball playing pooch.
She is agile, fast, efficient in how he spends energy and a really sweet dog.

Ours loves running. She is very timid and sweet. She just hates strangers. She will get between strangers and me and show her teeth. She means business. I'm the pack leader of course.
