More bad news. Gas leaked from a plant in Vizag (Vishakhapatnam). Many are feared dead, hundreds hospitalized. The plant was closed because of the pandemic lockdown. Older folks fear repeat of Bhopal Union Carbide gas tragedy. However I think Bhopal gas leak happened on a winter night. Gas remained low because of the dense fog and people were soundly sleeping. I hope that many people don't die.

I am in one of the most underdeveloped backwater State of India. 75+% of the population lives in rural communities. Few people come here. Almost no heavy industry. It is the best place to live in this country these days and it is the best time to be a farmer.

They said 8 were dead, one is a child.
They didn't mention it was closed

It was closed, that's why no one was there to control the leakage or inform the authorities. I saw on TV many stray dogs, cats and rats struggling in pain. It was gut wrenching. Better not talk about it. Very bad stuff going around the world. It makes me very sad!!!

I saw it on my news as well. They reported that 11 were dead and a lot of people were unconscious because they were sleeping when the gas hit their area. Some details on the plant too and what it manufactured.
I'm so sorry. Jut too many scary things happening these days.

I don't want to start a while thread for a question I'm sure that has been asked a million times already, so maybe you guys know-

Would 5 to 6 hens per one roo be a good amount to insure the most fertile eggs possible?

I know one roo could potentially handle 10 hens for general barnyard set ups, where his job is also to take care of them, but 10 may be too many for a higher fertility rate on the eggs?
He has one hen now, I'm getting bullseye eggs, and there is no need to wait out a prior roo's input.

I have 3 roosters with 7 hens. The reason why I have it this way is because I couldn't give up a good deal.

I am going to add more pullets so that we have at least 15 girls.

I would say that up to 6 with 1 roo is the best you can do to get optimal fertility.

What are you going to be breeding?

$40 a piglet...back in the '90s they were $25, now, well were before this, usually $80 for any piglet.

They were Kune Kune... I think that is how you spell it. They're a very good type of pig.
