Oh boy!!! That sounds awful!!I was being a smarty pants about being allergic to exercise, but I too have known a few people who are allergic to their own sweat.
Then there are kiddo's like mine who can be allergic to soap, lotion, sunblock, band-aids, sitting on the grass, laundry soaps, harsh cleaners, pets...and...and...and..
Not allergic to themselves but allergic to nearly everything around them.![]()
Congratulations to your daughter! I'm sorry that she can't go to her graduation ceremony... this virus really has everything messed up. It's ridiculous that only other people are allowed to be present for the diploma, too -- some people have more than four family members who would want to be present; I myself have four siblings, and then there's my parents! Our prom night was two weeks ago. After posting pictures of herself in the dress and fancy shoes she should have been wearing, DD went to bed early, curled up around her dog. It about broke my heart!
Tonight, we finally got word that "graduation" will be a one-at-a-time deal, with the kids walking solo across the cafeteria stage to get their diplomas from the principal. They can have four guests. Four. All have to arrive in the same car, wear masks the entire time, and leave as soon as their grad crosses the stage ... so the principal can disinfect his hands in preparation for the next graduate. No audience full of family. No hugs. No party. No high fives or good-byes to their friends. Nothing. It's okay, at least they're getting to walk across the stage. But no, it's not okay, either. This whole thing just stinks. We all understand. We accept that this is the right thing to do. But, there aren't words ... or meds ... or drinks ... strong enough to fix this, or even to make it "okay." "Stinks" doesn't even come close ... but it's the strongest I'll let myself put in print.![]()
You got a PUPPY!?!?!(Back from getting the puppy. She is sleeping now.
I am going to lay down for a bit.
