They must’ve put way too much 😂 I did that before when I lived with my parents and suds came out all over the kitchen floor. The dogs had a blast
I did the same thing when I was a kid, using Ivory dish soap in the washing machine. Thank Heavens our laundry was in the basement on a concrete floor ... and my parents had a sense of humor!

No sponges here. I use white dish cloths or wash rags, whatever you call them, so they can go through the washing machine with bleach. I got rid of all the pretty, fancy dish towels too, everything is white like you would see in a restaurant so it can be bleached. I hate the smell of a mildewy dish towel, and MO has such high humidity this is a smell I battle all the time. Can't hang towels out on the clothesline to dry in the sunshine bc of the humidity, so bleach is the only way to kill that funk.
Asthmatic here and just a tiny bit of bleach will have me on the floor gasping for air! Funky stuff finds it's way to the garbage or gets used outside only.

Thankfully the home AC does a really good job of being a dehumidifier as well because we have the same levels of outdoor humidity in the warm months as you guys do. Fall and winter are better and I can dry things outside. I did that at the other farm all the time. Anything that needed to be soft because it was next to the skin went in the dryer and everything else went out on the line so long as it was above freezing.

Sorry about the dishwasher. I tried to use the one that was here when I bought the house and it leaked everywhere. The entire gasket was toast! It was nasty too and I had no idea what it had been used to wash :sick so kiddo's allergies meant getting it replaced.

Dishwashers were things of wonder when I was a kid. I was the dishwasher of the house when I was little and only had a few here or there for short periods of time as an adult.
Probably one of the reasons I LOVE my dishwasher now. I got's more important things to do that rubbing dishes!!

Just got a notification that the chicks I ordered went out of Iowa this afternoon. USPS is showing the shipment isn't expected until MONDAY! :th

However I've ordered from this hatchery before and it normally only takes 2 days, max.
Trying the breathe and relax here.....

Yes, Black Australorp. None of them have been jerks. They don't even crow much. I only separated them from the flock about a week ago because they finally started acting hormonal, but not bad. Two of them, in the bachelor pen, sparred a little, but not much. And George, the BJG, who I left with the flock, often lies beside the bachelor pen next to one of his buddies. Makes me feel bad! Even worse, one of the BA seems to have paired off with one of the pullets. She has flown into the bachelor pen once or twice and sometimes they pace the fence together. I feel like an ogre. If I can tell him apart from the others, I will spare him. I will even name them Wesley and Buttercup! ❤

Okay, I posted this on Monday and I am happy to say that apparently Wesley, now aka FarmBoy, was not one of the first three Aussies processed yesterday. I can now identify him from the remaining three and will spare him, as promised. Tonight we will separate him from the other bachelors and put him back in the general population. The other two bachelors will be processed Friday. Here's FarmBoy with Buttercup, his True Love, a little bit ago. Hmm. That's weird. Not sure pic attached. I will post, and edit if it is not there.

I don’t like how dishwashers was dishes. I probably would still hand wash my dishes even if I had a dishwasher.

Yeah, they might've filled up the whole cup, I don't know. Nobody's talkin'. 🙄
