I don't float test, but when I set and egg on the counter (or the flat of my hand) and it rolls it self I know the air pocket is pretty big and time to go back to the birds. I've hard boiled them, mashed them with other left overs, and when all this covid hit I was breaking 6 eggs daily into about 1/3 of the hens daily feed to help stretch the feed. I continued this for about 2 months and never saw a decline in egg production or the birds,Hey guys, change of subject but was wondering when you float test eggs, can you cook up the ones that float and feed them back to your chickens?
Been feeding old eggs back to the birds in some form or another for years and ..knock on wood...never have had an issue. (In moderation of course)
