Me too! He doesn’t mind them but he doesn’t like to do anything with them. I don’t like to ask for help with them either.

I guess I'm really blessed. We don't have many (have had as few as 8, right now close to 30), but DH helps with them. We will never have many, as we don't have room for them, but I think he enjoys them as much as I do. He does the early morning chores, filling water buckets, opening the coop and tossing scratch. I gather eggs in the afternoon, toss scratch again and turn them out to free-range and eyeball everybody to check for problems. He checks for late afternoon eggs and then later, locks everyone down for the night. He's a good guy. ☺

For those of you with human littles, Chuck E. Cheese's is on the verge of filing for bankruptcy. It's doubtful they will return after the lockdown.

As the song prophesied:
"It's The End Of The World As We Know It!"
Oh wow that's a big ruh roh. Apollo owns a lot of companies, I hope chuckees is the only big one...
If you really want to creep yourself out, play (or watch someone play) any of the video game versions of Five Nights at Freddy's. Premise being: the animatronics come alive at night and will kill anyone in the facility.
Hey how about a DD that is going through a five nights freddy's craze... again. She LOVES to draw the animatronics and read the comics? books? She draws them out and then asks me what I think and I'm like Aaaaah um it's great, super super creepy honey good job! :th

BTW she draws very very well.

Mine would rather do tree cutting than chicken chores. But he will put a fence up anywhere I want it.

Yes, it shows photographs of the people of both the "real" Marwen and the Movie version.

What really hit home for me/us was Googling Marwen afterwards, which took us to all the down-n-dirty, behind-the-scene details. I do NOT recommend watching the details first, even for adults who know the story. It ruins the innocence and the joy in the movie. Do it right after. Better yet, throw out, "I wonder if the place is real, too" and let the girls look it up for you. It's enlightening ... and humbling ... and in the face of today's social crisis ... ex-TREME-ly current!

To be clear, there are some uncomfortable, but decently handled topics - drug references, civil unrest and bullying references, war and mental illness - a lot of things that teens and tweens deal with in school-based discussions. If it helps any, I work very closely with middle school kids and I find this movie to be spot-on appropriate for the age and a perfect leaping-off point for some really important thoughts and discussions.

If you DO watch it, please let me know. I'm curious to hear your kids' - and your - reactions.
We will be watching it, hopefully this summer. And I shall for sure update you on this @MROO

My DH I guess just really loves what I do with crossing the breeds I have to create beautiful colors. He talks about me and the chickens all day at work with customers... Some customers come specifically to talk to him about me and the chickens.

Before my DH became my DH he was an addict of many things. He was my best friend and he realized that I was dying but living way better than anyone he has met. It made him want to change all on his own. I’m not someone who turns away from friendship if you have a flaw, I can see past flaws. He’s been sober for 7 years and we just celebrated our 6th anniversary. I believe the chickens and animals we have keep me healthy and keep him sober/clean. Plus it’s fun to sell together and watch our chicks grow in new homes and we love getting first egg pics.

He loves hatching chicks, he even removes them from the bator for me in the morning. He knows every chickens name and he’s learning the breeds.

I think it’s just a special hobby that we have together that we started together. I always dreamed of having a farm and he’s making that dream come true.

Chick sales slowed down for about a few days and now it seems to have picked up again. Wonder if people are going to start worrying again because I have seen lockdown may be on the horizon again. That means chick sales will get crazy again and sell outs everywhere. We keep up with the demand though. We can get eggs from 3 different farms if needed.
